But I've had a protein bar (nitrotech or ABB zero sugar) about an hour before I trained the last 2 days (just because I was at a clients) and honestly, had two of the "better" workouts I've had in awhile.......don't know....I've always been against these junk sticks, but I have 3 free boxes that are going STALE!! lol...........oh well.......anyone else a "closet bar muncher"? ;)

HAHHA..you serious bro? You an advocate of bars??? I never thought someone would support my theory.....I've tried everything.....oats make me tired, tuna and flax seem to work decent.....but a frozen bar and a cup of java seem to really hit it........damn........
 
did you consider it may be the java? or has that been a staple with those other pre-workout meals as well

Seriously, it may be that those bars contain some sort of psuedo-hidden-sugar that is in some kind of "ductro-destro-mesa-thormorphin-chemical-ese" (in other words one of those things in the ingredients no one knows what the fuck it is), and that gives you a short, sharp boost in energy. How do you feel after the workout? Are you really burnt out?

nitro tech's caramel bar thing was like eating pavement.....I mean i love chewing on iron like the next guy but DAMN!!!!!!! :sick: I have done some research in the American Journal of Sports Medicine and there were some studies that showed that whey protein (bar or shake) taken within 30 min to an hour post weight training showed better recovery times, but i have not found too much on whey prior to exercise. I usually eat a light meal, but not nessasarily a protein bar. :cool:

F- all ya'll.........LOL........they work for me and as for you juve, people DO care about my eating habits......after all, I am the cover model for this board......lol...kdding...anyway, I'll stick with them for awhile.....maybe a half and some tuna w/ flax............ :chomp:

No, I have not..........but, I definately will.......not one to flaunt around asking for someone to take a pic, but I will work on it..........should do it for my own good anyways (before Dorians routine, after.....)

yeah.. I had to use my shitty camera phone to take pics of myself.. make sure you take BEFORE pics because it's really, really hard to see yourself changing when you look in the mirror every morning and night
