'Five Spice' Chicken

Came across this recipe while I was cooking chicken today:

1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup chopped onions
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger root
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon crushed anise seed
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
Dash black pepper

Marinate chicken in the soy sauce, onion, garlic, and ginger root for 3-4 hours.
Mix spices, sprinkle over chicken, and bake in a 325 degrees oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until done.

I completely winged it since I didn't have half the spices called for available, but it tastes awesome anyway. After all, cooking is an art, not a science! :p
