I dont know of any bodybuilder/weight lifter/power lifter/strong man/oly lifter that has as much as 20g a day, and even after researching only came accross one study which dealt at a dose like that. 1-2 teaspoons of this per day is more than enough.

Most guys/girls (gotta be PC) here will take Flax Oil. Problem is, the body has to break this down into EPA and DHA and during that process allot of those healthy fats are lost, which is why I use this product (of clinical quality). It has a lemon taste which is great too, and it very rarely repeats itself on me (burps).

If you want to check out the benefits of EPA DHA do a search on google - there is a tonne of all round benefits, there really is.

EPA and DHA are the form of omega 3s that are used by the body but cant be created by body precursors. They have a major role in prostaglandin synthesis and thus responsible for many physiological functions including inflammation as stated a simple google search will answer.

And i will reiterate again get the notion of 20g out of your head it is 3-4g epa/dha a day you need to take. After that cost and side effects are the issues.
Also do not use flaxoil a reputable brand of fish oil preferably with mercury levels tested for is what you should take.

I am quoting the "Skinny Bastard" diet here, i am what you might call a skinny bastard and i am finding it hard to eat the correct diet, so i might follow that one.
 
Yeah, it makes no sense to concentrate on Omega 6's. Concentrate on Omega 3's from supplementation and food, this is the problem that most of us are deficient in. As mentioned, it would probably take a year of totally avoiding n6's dilligently to have any effect on your stores.

You don't really need a supplement for omega-6s unless you are eating an extremely strict diet. Western diets are full of omega-6s.

danbo - A normal 1000mg serving of fish oil has 300mg of Omega-3s in it, 180mg EPA and 120MG DHA. That would work out to 3600mg EPA and 2400mg DHA a day. So if you take extra potent oils you need to calculate out how much you need to reach those levels.

The ratio of omega 6 to omega 3 is supposed to be anywhere from 4:1 up to 1:2. I don't know where you guys are going to get your extra 20g a day of unsaturated fats the diet calls for but not getting enough omega 6s to counteract the omega 3s could be bad too. You'd be eating 6g a day of omega 3 on this diet. Peanuts are high in omega 6s.

For 90 tablets it cost me £3.99, if i take 20 a day, thats only 4.5 days they will last for and thats way too expensive.
