I have normally low bp, I smoke reefer every day for years now. I used to have anxiety attacks on it, but those days all I did was smoke cigarettes and herb and drink beer (like 5-6 years ago). If I didn't hit a couple of bowls after the gym/before bed I wouldn't be able to sleep at all. I use it to relax me and gives me that "icing on the cake" feeling like "ahh i can rest now".
When I don't smoke for a few days my lady friend asks me to please take a few minutes out of my day to burn one for the courtesy of others. She doesn't need me to tell her I haven't smoked, my attitude says it all. And i don't blaze during the day anymore, just before bed, sometimes when i'm being social on the weekends (saturday is "the weekend" for me). I noticed it in myself, but when it's brought up by others it's like *whoa*. I've always thought I've needed some sort of medication to make me 'normal'..dunno..in regards to food, man i'm starving over here at 4000 calories a day..I don't need it for that.
Have you considered B12 injections? No more anxiety, plenty of appetite.
