FINAL WORD!!!!! CARDIO 1st or TRAINING 1st--when cutting?

I definitely agree on training first then cardio or if you have the time am cardio and pm training. Lately I run at the beach in the mornings on an empty stomach twice a week and train in the mornings 3-4 times a week.
When I sometimes do cardio and training together it is in the mornings and on an empty stomach wich is not so great but I cannot train for at least 1.5 hours after I eat and never have time in the morning to eat, wait, then train etc...

Cardio on an empty stomach for me has always worked best.

Cardio when your body is depleted of its glyco stores is when it will start tapping into its fat stores most effectively.

Just as trax mentioned previously in the post -

Just to throw in my 2 cents which is basically agreeing with everyone else:

Optimally, cardio on empty stomach in the morning, train late afternoon or evening. If you only have time for one session though, weights first then cardio (NOT on an empty stomach).

BUt then the moment you add any carbs into your diet that day after your cardio your body will use that instead of fat. Either way calorie deficit is all that matters.

I'll pound the point home some more....

training first, cardio second unless you're doing am cardio, then do lifting pm

Lately I've been doing am cardio on a no carb stomach, then lifting at night and doing cardio again after that. Results are coming fast, but you have to take lots of rest days so you don't burn out.

here eight million different opinions on this???? what do you guys prefer-from experience?

This is my deal.....
12 - 15 minutes cardio to elevate heart rate.
45 - 60 minutes of hard and fast training. (clean motions !!! always clean motions.. but keep the heart rate up)
45 -60 minutes cardio. (prefferably a stairmaster)

and/or
Try true crosstraining to shed fat..when I cross it goes something like this....

15 minutes of cardio until heart rate is up. Leave machine and do...not sets or reps but 7 minutes of supersetting (move! move! move!)...no rest...rest on the tredmill.
Back on the bike ( I will usually change cardio machines) for 12 minutes.....back to the floor for 7 minutes...
do this until you have exercised your "body parts" completly. end with 45 minutes cardio.
Tell me what you think.

(but always do cardio last....thats like weight training 101 isn't it?)

I ALWAYS weight train first. I like to feel the strength instead of being tired from cardio. After I weight train, I do my cardio for 20-30 minutes a day.

Quite frankly I don't know what the threadstarter is talking about. I think basically everyone does what you or I do, and even the people that don't for whatever reason don't claim their way is better.

Now as for opinions on whether it's good to do cardio on an empty stomach or not, THAT'S when you start having debates.
