FINAL WORD!!!!! CARDIO 1st or TRAINING 1st--when cutting?

It is personal preference, but I always do cardio, first, good warm up and I get it out of the way.

If you're doing it for any respectable length of time or putting any effort into it at all it's a terrible "warm-up"...it should basically drain the life out of you. If you ride the bike for 5 minutes or whatever before you go train legs then fine, but if you're doing an actual cardio session it's gotta go after lifting.

cardio first and weights later for me. The tough part is finding time to get both in at different times. I truly feel that I get the best fat burning empty stomach early in am, but about 50 percent of the time, I just cant find the time to do two trips to the gym so I end up working out first and then when I am dead, I go run.

Is this post in jest? I said lift first, then cardio...unless you're doing the most optimal thing of AM cardio + evening lifting. If they're in the same session, weights THEN cardio. There, 3rd time I've posted it in this thread; I hope there's no more confusion.

STENSON, You are correct man....I am sorry (once again) as I misread your post......Yes, I agree 100%------MOST OPTIMAL cardio would be ------1 hr. first thing in morning......Then 5 or 6pm...heavy training followed by 1 hr. cardio again.......

here eight million different opinions on this???? what do you guys prefer-from experience?

Never do cardio before weight training....
That's right I said NEVER

Expend your energy lifting, then when your gas tank is empty do cardio. That way your body should go looking for calories to burn (since you burned the calories that were in your stomach already) and find a chunk of fat on your midsection and burn that...

Doing cardio on an empty fuel tank can be catabolic but it should burn FAT
Weight training on an empty tank is almost useless

To be honest , I really do agree with doing weights and cardio in the same session anyway. They should be separated so you get maximum benefit of both. After weights , I wouldn't do cardio. i would go home and drink some protein and rest...

do cardio tomorrow
