Fever w/possible abcess

Shot 2.5 ml of 100mg/ml British Dragon Primobol two days ago. Noticed swelling, pinkish skin color and some discomfort yesterday to my left buttocks. Today I am experiencing the same symptoms except the swelling is getting worse and now have a fever. My source is reputable. So , I doubt the product is bad. I shot it slowly immediately after a hot shower. Did I shoot too much volume with 2.5 ml? Anyway, I took 1000mg of Augmentin (amoxicillin) and plan on taking another 1000 mg of Augmentin in 12 hrs. Anyone have other suggestions? Thanks

Bump for ya.

I remember a thread a few weeks ago said that oral antibiotics will not help you infection. I believe the consensus was that you needed antibiotics injected straight into the site to be effective. I'd search but I'm not plat.

Best of luck bro.

Orals can help if you catch it early enough. If you really are worried though, I would see a doctor. This is nothing to play around with. I had a bad abcess once and eventually had to go in for surgery.

Here's a couple links, that should get you to a couple good threads about Abcess.
I had a simliar issue with BD Primobol. I don't think's the "volume" you're shooting. I shoot 5cc/ml every 4-days and have been able to handle for weeks now. (shooting in Glute. I shot 4-cc/ml of Primobol and the next day I had swelling and a little redness. No Fever though. Had the same swelling and redness on day-2. Sat in the tube and soaked in hotwater and used a heating pad and it was better on day-3.
But, I did NOT have a fever. I would say that if you have a fever for 2-3 days straight you should get it checked out by a doc.

seriously doubt it was the volume man. probably just messed up w/ the sanitation. you sterilize the site and needle 1st. if so, i'd say it's either a bad batch of stuff or just got unlucky w/ the sterility. good luck!

Ok it was not the volume of the injection. 2.5 cc is not too much. Also, no they do not shoot antibiotics straight into the abscess. If it has formed an abscess, you need to get it I and D'd or Incision and Drainage. They will pack it with a gauze that has antibiotics on it, and give you a prescription for an oral antibiotic, usually bactrim or Doxycycline.

If the swelling and pain increases rapidly (over a day or so) and you have fever, then odds are you have an abscess forming.

I had an abcess so bad it went from my injection spot which was my shoulder down to my lower tricep. I could barely bend my arm at that point. This was in the matter of a couple of days. I went to the doc and he perscribed me some anti-biotics and that shit went away pretty fast !!

Thanks to everyone that replied. This morning the swelling has subsided slightly. If the fever persists, I guess a visit to the doc is needed. I am bummed since the Primobol is not cheap!! But, I suppose I will have to discontinue the Primo.

Think I can continue using the Primobol once the abcess disappears? I did jab the right buttock with no problem.

There is only one answer to this. Immediately go to doctor.

It could have nothing to do with your gear. Their is a bacteria that lives on our skin that can cause us some major serious problems. My doctor said it was very common for weight lifters to carry it because of using all the different equipment that everyone else uses

Never take antibiotics on your own accord. That is the worst advice to give. Each persons body responds differently to other drugs. 1 antibiotic is different from another one.

Returned from doc. Doc said their was no abcess. Rather, I had an allergic reaction resulting in hives. The doc advised me to discontinue using antibiotics immediately and ice the area. I had been using heat! He also told me to pick up some Claritin (antihistamine).

My next question. If the Claritin resolves the hives can I continue with the Primobol?

I've had those symptoms before and have never had an abcess. another member on elite told me to do this and it has worked take a really hot shower and put the stream on the injection site, and massage it really hard, repeat

Here is a little insight for BD gear bro. I used test, eq, primo, and winstrol which was ALL BD gear. Great results but every other shot would swell and turn red like and abcess. It would take over a week to go away and would cripple the affected muscle. I don't think it was an abscess but just a severe reaction to whatever BD uses. You can still use the gear, but just expect to have similar cases in the future.

Usually it is a high BA that people react like this to. It is common to get a good sized lump at the injection site. Sometimes you get a really big one. I have had a couple that scared me and I thought wouold turn into an abscess but it went away on its own accord. An abscess won't just go away by itself.

This is Day 5 and the swelling is beginning to subside slightly. I switched from Claritin to Benadryl. It is leg day and I doubt I can tolerate the pain unless I only doing leg extensions. Squatting or leg presses are unlikely.

I am undecided if I will continue with the Primobol. Since I spent so much $$ on the stuff it is hard to not try at least one more jab. I tried both ice and heat. The MD and WebMD.com recommend ice and to stay away from heat. But, the heat seemed to work better. I do not trust doctors since you can go to three different doctors and get three very different recommendations.

I am still dealing with an infection that's been going on for about three weeks now. It started out as an abcess but kept coming back. I am now on two different antibiotics and I was in the er last night with a fever of 103 and had to be hooked up to an iv drip of antibiotics and fluids. If this doesn't work out, it looks like I'll be staying there for a while. Any swelling at the inj. site that comes along with a fever should not be taken lightly. I used to be one of those take some antibiotics I have laying around type of guys. Not anymore.

And since you don't know if it was the product or not, I would toss it. No $30-100 vial (or whatever it cost you) is worth your health. Good luck and I hope this clears up for you quickly and that you feel better soon.
