Seriously.

I've converted one feminist. Every male needs to do his part.

Stand tall. Stand proud.

Did you guys ever hear of the lysistrata project? You might find it very interesting.

I did a quick search. Interesting.

http://www.lysistrataproject.org/aboutus.htm

The Lysistrata Project is dedicated to bridging the spiritual, social activist and women's communities, and through our combined economic and creative power humanizing the global agenda.
Begun in June 2002 in the wake of both the 9/11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center and the Bush administration's bombing of Afghanistan, it recognizes that in the widening spiral of escalation now gripping our world, each act of violence, blamed on the previous one, necessarily begets another. "An eye for an eye," Gandhi cautioned, "leaves the whole world blind."

We are part of the rising tide for true Peace born of the balance, both inward and worldly, of our masculine and feminine energies. People over profit, woman's full worth over controlled reproductive function, and partnership over dominance are outcomes calling for a heroic alliance.

We honor the hundreds of millions of men and women globally who sought to prevent the escalation of violence on the people of Iraq. It is the closest we have come to reaching critical mass in the service of Peace. While saddened we did not prevail, we now know the will to peace unites us worldwide. Our path moves beyond reactively responding against threats to more proactively creating change.

The Lysistrata Project, guided by Gandhian principles of nonviolence and economics, seeks inventive solutions. As a resource, it features pages on fiscal and societal costs of war, and the ties between oil, multinational corporations, the subordination of women and the desecration of our Earth.

"The human race is at a crossroads. We must choose either the paradigm of money values and violence, or the paradigm of life values and nonviolence... can we save humanity from itself?"
-- Alice Walker

It is. I did a project on it. It's based on the book Lysistrata. In the book Lysistrata withheld sex from her husband so that he would come home from the war. She also got the rest of the women to do the same.

It is still up for debate whether the author wanted it to be viewed as humorous or otherwise.

To put sexuality in the same league as saving the Earth is more than a stretch to me.

Baoh,

I am not saying anything about sexuality. It's about feminism. This thread just reminded me about the lysistrata project and I thought you guys would be interested in it.

I wasn't saying you were saying anything. I was just responding to the article portion that was posted by Casavant.
