Feeling Like You're Wasting It

I'll tell you, I hate my rest days. Somewhere, way, way back in my pea brain I have this idea that when I'm on the juice and not in the gym I'm wasting it. I've got all these wonderful man made chemicals that are going to make the the next Ed Coan, and I'm letting it all go to waste not being in the gym thrashing my muscles and throwing around enough iron to scare a rabid PTA mom.

I can't wait until tomorrow morning. Auxiliary muscle day. This rest bullshit will be in the past & I'll be back in the gym turning purple, and busting blood vessels trying to get that last rep while inside my head I'm beating the shit out of that 125 lb weakling that keeps begging me to stop because it hurts and I'm tired.

You grow when you rest. Remember that. Although it is a lot less likely to overtrain when on juice, but it still happens....quite easily too.

Rest is very important...it should not be taken lightly

Well said brother. I think most people overtrain when on gear. Yes your recovery time is less but you still need to give them time to GROW!
 
Use that time away from the gym as an opportunity to cram in even more calories and protein... :D I always eat more on my off days because I have that extra 2 hours to play with.

Just have an active day when you rest.
Resting doesnt mean sleeping 12 hours and sitting on your ass for the other 12.

Go out with your friends, do some shopping, play a pick-up game, visit places.

Yea all that sounds good. And it's all correct too. When I'm off the rest days are really needed because I'm so sore. When I'm on it takes so much to get me sore that I feel like I could just keep going and going. Normally I would go for a couple mile run, but it is FUCKING -18 DEGREES out right now (before the wind chill). No way am I stepping foot outside in that.

Alcatraz has the best answer here. Rest is the key to growth, it is during the rest or recovery phase that the muscles repair the microscopic damage and grow. So if you aren't resting enough you won't grow!

While that is a good goal, you must now turn in your weightlifting club membership. Not knowing who Edd Coan is, is like not knowing the Pledge of Allegiance, or how to write in cursive.
