What you afraid of?

thinking about getting a .50 cal rifle too.. that'd be a cool gun to bring to the outdoor range..

you mean 357 mag? 357 sig is just a necked down .40
when I first got out of the army I got a job at the nuk plant as a guard.the gun we had was the 357 sig it had a 10lb triger witch sucked but the fucking thing was sick kick back was massive and it would blow a hole threw the targets as big as my head.we also had a automatic riffle of some kind but I forget what it was.I did not like the thing any way it was way to front heavy.had a clear grip in the front and looked a lot like a ak.

357 sig aint no more powerful than a .40 its actually a .355 bullet(i think thats the right size) in a .40 cartridge necked down to fit.

AMT Hardballer 1911 45.. use to have a 9mm but it felt like shooting a bb gun, didn't like it much.....

For a pistol, you can't go wrong with a 1911 model 45 caliber ACP. Alot of great manufacturers out there, i.e., Colt, Springfield Armory, Kimber etc...

For those pointing out the 1911, I just do not like the gun or the action on it. It is a personal preference.

And the .357 sig? Sure it is just a .40 S&W necked down to a 9mm, however it has proven itself to be a solid manstopper, and would be in my top 3 choices of calibers for easy-to-carry self-defense.

anything without a safety and sawed off.

We are talking about handguns. A good shotgun is the top choice for home defense. I have an 18" barreled pistol grimp mossburg under my bed, with a few accessories on it. I keep 6 3" 12g mags with #4 shot in it.

i was just kidding. it would be funny to have a sawed off pistol though, there'd be nothing to grab! lol

PS: i know nothing about guns. except that Bond had a PP7

I'm old school but I like a .38 special triggerless snubby to carry around.

Small and the air light ones weigh almost nothing, very handy when collecting rent in bad neighborhoods.

And before you cannon worshipers start claiming that a .38 will just piss u off when shot with...yeah fuckin right. I can pull my snubby and shoot you in the face before you even think about drawing that cannon you carry.

the one i grab in my left hand first thing in the am, of course. :FRlol:

There are plenty of lightweight autoloaders with faster actions. It is about personal choice though.

I used to own a Walther ppk, years ago. Very discreet and accurate.

The 1911 is a bit of a beast to control but it has stopping power and a proven track record of service and reliability in the most extreme environments.
The Luger is an excellent sidearm to fire, the action seems to bring your hand right back into line from the recoil. A very comfortable weapon to fire and the 9mm parabellum has some stopping power.

John Browning was an engineering genius, the M2 is still in use today and was designed near the end of WWI.

It's not bad if you're firing a magnum round. During the Boer war the British issued a .38 caliber revolver and it was found to not be capable of stopping a charging man hyped up on adrenaline, a lot of stopping power comes from the situtation. Walking up behind a guy and shooting him in the back of the head doesn't require a high caliber round or heavy charge.

Phaded, I own a models 17.19 and 26 the 26 is an 11 shot 9mm and I love it. I am a glock fan. My 17 and 19 come with the 16 and 17 shot clips. I also have tritium night sites on all of them.

this thread reminds when both me and my wife carried guns. I'm so glad that life is behind ourselves and there is no need for that nonsense anymore.

I just bought an F N 5.7...It kicks ass...20rd mags over 2000fps at the muzzle..dont kick for shit and is balls on at 25meters...its almost like a hand sized rifle...pops thru kevlar and steel like hot butter..4.4lb trigger pull..love it and dont go any where with out it..I'll post pics once I get a new camera..

The new Springfield XD .45ACP ain't no joke. I hear nothing but good things from customers. The Custom Shop offers ALL kinds of modifications for the XD. Wayyyy more than any other polymer frame gun.

Springfield 1911 A1 (.45acp) or a glock 19 (9mm) are both great for concealed carry with the 1911 its very slim and you can carry it loaded with a round in the chamber and not have to worry about blowing your balls off. the glock 19 is also slim and small but you know its there, the shitty thing about glocks? i dont feel safe carrying a round in the chamber beause of a safey issue, there really is no safe! there is but its a tiny piece of plastic on the trigger! I dont know about you but I like having my dick and carrying a loaded one just doesnt feel safe unless its holstered. on the other hand with a little practice revolvers can be just as deadly and more dependable.
