Playing ice hockey is my favorite form, although it's not the one I use the most.

Currently training for a sprint triathlon. So swimming, cycling, and running right now. Although I love playing hockey, roller or ice.

I actually enjoy doing cardio on the eilliptical. I used to enjoy running and the Schwinn Airdyne but neither of those suit me any longer with a bad back and artificial hip. I think I like the elliptical better than the other two anyway.

I do a huge variety - usually something different everyday. it all depends on my motivation and my strengths that week. My job takes a lot out of me emotionally and physically.

Some weeks I feel strong and can do more - so I run more. Some weeks I am spent and can barely drag myself out of bed - so I spend more time taking it easier on the elliptical or stationary bike. Some weeks I need the motivation of a group class, so I take more classes.

Most weeks I do some combination combination of: running, StepMill, kickboxing, and elliptical. :)

i type really fast for 1 1/2hr straight no rest..

I used to box amatuers. You will not find a better cardio workout ever.

Not to mention you learn how to deliver beatings to people ;)

Or get one yourself

Hiking. ...here in the Phoenix area, we've got a ton of steep mountains scattered throughout the city. Powering up Squaw Peak or Camelback Mountain will get your heart going in a way that no exercise machine can touch.

VersaClimber is the best cardio workout that I have ever had! This is coming from a guy who who was an elite level swimmer and h2o polo player for over a decade. 30 minutes on that machine, and I'm spent!

Hello,
my favourite Cardio is Running.

Thats my first post on this board, so I want to say hello to all of you.

My English isn´t very well, but I try my best. :)

Bye

I'd say running or biking in the warmer months. I've recently become addicted to the eliptical machines at the gym. Can't seem to get enough.

You can't beat running for a cardio workout. When I'm too tired for it,or feel lazy, I do the elliptical too.

All in all though, my favorite is when I have the energy, and someone to spar with.

My feet are wrecked, so I have to get creative to do cardio.

The gym I own has several recliner bikes that can have the tension adjusted within time intervals. It also has some built in programs to raise the challange level. I can push with the heels and arch and stay away from the toes.

I work out at 5 AM, so I use the bike first as I sip some coffee, eat some aspirin and my vits. I turn on the news. By 5:30 AM I'm ready for the weights.

Elliptical is the best kickass calorie burner. But have to change it up some with biking. Oh, yeah and sex of course.

you cant have sex on the list because not everyone can do it long enough to call it cardio

My fav is running...before I started lifting weights that's all I did 6-8 miles a day. Now that I'm lifting 6 days a week I try to keep the running to 2 days a week for about 30-40 min. It still is the best stress buster for me.

That was my first thought too...humpin' is my FAVOURITE form of cardio!!! ;)

sex is proven to be a useless form of exercise burns hardly any calories

on the other hand when i have sex with myself i get big muscle forearms or should i say forearm

Mountainbiking simply because I enjoy blasting along single track or conquering a long steady climb. Mountainbiking is also an awesome way to see the countryside. It's fun!

Swimming and running are probably better overall for cardiovascular training imo but they're just not as enjoyable.

This poll is older, but lately I have been happy mixing it up, bike, running outside, starimaster,

All of it great, starting to drop some fat.

For those of you that list "humping" as your preferred choice of cardio need I remind you that you need to be screwing for at least 20 minutes to get into the fat burning phase. So for those of you that go for only 4 minutes you really need to work on your endurance skills. :)

I am a BIG fan and proponent of lifestyle cardio.

This basically means instead of driving to the gym, walk or bike.

Doing your weekly shopping? Going downtown for fun shopping? Walk or ride your bike.

Right now I am riding my bike to work, about 13-14 miles either way.

By train = 45-50 min (walk up hill to hospital included)

Driving = 40 min

Cycling 60-80 min + 500 kcals + money saved on train fare/petrol

It also doesn't seem like cardio, it is just my transportation now.

:)

You go girl!!!!! I'm so happy to hear ya advocate for riding the bike to work!

P.S. I voted in the poll, but you left out "walking..."

Whoa,
Dudes this is such a lame thread. It reminds me of a dead mule somebody left below Bishop Pass, headin up into Sequiah/Kings Canyon. Every time I had to pack up the switch backs my horse would get all spooky, Cause he smelt the daeath, thick- and I'd have to get off and blow in his nose and say, "Now Buster I'd never leave you for dead up here on Bishop Pass. You know Buster I'd rather leave my old lady up here bloated and rotting before I'd let any thing like that happen happen to you." And I'd look at him and he look at me-and damn I'd be walking up Bishop Pass like a damn fool.
Yeah this "endurance board is rotting just like this "endurance thread"
My favorite cardio?-running at night, in the coolest part of the day, through this cesspool of a town when it's 95 degrees at night. Wondering If I'll get blown away tonight, by some illegal alien smoking crack. Wanting to puke at the thought of what this country's turned into, Wondering what I've turned into- dreaming about Buster and wishing I could be that mule near the switch backs on Bishop Pass.

How can sex not be on this list?

you beat me to it. the only cardio i do is early morning sex and before i fall asleap sex. so between the 2 thats about 4-6 minutes of cardio per day when im on test. :rose::lil k::licker::blow::insane::nighty:

Why do you do any cardio? Does that 4 to 6 minutes get you to your target Heart rate for any given amount of time, or are you just trying to limber up? I don't understand why only 4 to 6 minutes.

Anything "running" orientated; fel running, fartlek, 60% MHR etc.

There's something quite re-assuring about being able to cover x number of miles in a short space of time on foot.

I'd have to say it's anything running orientated for me too.

I do still quite enjoy ice skating on occasion but don't nearly get as much time to do so anymore due to lack of ice rinks in my area.

Boxing and Kickboxing!! I LOST 120 lbs doing it!! Check out how, FREE on my YouTube Channel if you want!! Just search "Your Time Training with Melisa"

Mountain biking and hiking give me way more exercise than anything I could do in the gym, and its way more fun. Unfortunately I can't hike or bike frequently enough to get sufficient cardio. So, in the gym, I usually do one of those elliptical type machines.

I'd say running first, biking a close second. Neither really feel like ''cardio,'' rather more like therapy on some days. lol
