Fav Low Carb Protein Powders?

Power36

One of my doctors is into supplements, and is looking for better tasting low carb protein supplements...right now lots of the low carb or zero carb protein supplements taste like complete ass, or are soy, rice, or plain flavor that will make you choke hah.....

So I thought Id ask here, and maybe whatever the top 5 picks are Ill suggest to my doctor and maybe Ill get to be the lab rat to try them out :-)

He prefers whey products but blends are totally fine...lots of his patients do low carb or keto diets so the less carbs the better....

As well chime in if you had a doctor who used supplements with their patients more than medications, what would you suggest to add to his arsenal? Ill pass it on...

While Im at it....put it this way, if money were not an object, what supplement stacks would you be on? I checked out Needtos protein and it had carbs but trust me I looked there first....however I am open to refering my doc to the site so Needto if you read this thread, and want to try to sales pitch a doctor on your supplement line let me know. Especially if you have any other doctors using your products he could talk shop with...and no, this is not your regular type of MD who doesnt know sh$t about supplements...this guy knows his stuff on supplements and nutrition, is very holistic and prefers to do supplements/nutrition and HRT over medications...

Honestly, Whey to Build Muscle from N2BM is about as low in carbs as you go, and it tastes phenomenal! Anything else lower or zero carb has a high content of artificial sweetener, and that itself is counterproductive to weight loss, as well as muscle glycogen replacement.

Alot of his patients do strict keto, not for BB or athletic purposes but various medical conditions he works with....I think Needto's protein had like 24grams of carbs per serving which is high for someone on keto that might need to do 2-3 shakes a day...

Yea I know low carb and zero carb tastes bad haha....well not as good as other proteins....Muscle Milk products taste amazing, Living Fuel isnt popular mainstream but has insane ingredients and high quality, check out their label its amazing (not low carb though)....I forget last month I used a peanut butter whey product that was great too..

No this doc doesnt like artificial sweetners, pretty pure with his diet and supplement suggestions....Im going to send him N2BM website link and maybe he will be open to it but when I looked it wasnt low carb

Im curious to try N2BM if it tastes that good

This is what I've been using. Low carb and good protein content. Thought I'd post the nutrition profile so you could see for yourself because I could be way off the mark of what you're looking for.

that looks good. What brand and specific product is it?

Sci-mentor Whey Excel. Got it in chocolate mint flavour, tastes great with milk not so good with water. I had the chocolate flavour before this tub which tasted pretty awesome with just water though.

I use Scivation's Whey. Great taste and only 1g of carbs (not including gram of fiber).

I like whey to build protein, one serving has 4.6 grams of carbs, my favorite is the ice cream sandwich flavor.

This past month I have been using Dymatize ISO-100, chocolate and vanilla flavors. I absolutely love them both. I switched from Muscle Milk and Lean body. I am lactose intolerant so there are so many brands I cant use.

I have experimented with these two flavors by adding in PB2 as well as sometimes a banana and or instant oats. Everytime they are good..

BTW, I am not a Dymatize REP, LOL..

Kaizen Whey Isolate
.5g Carbs
35g protein
gluten free
tastes really good, Im on my 6th 5lbs tub.
I got it at Costco, but im not sure if all Costcos carry it.

Mrs P, is that you in your profile picture? Amazing body... wow!

You're asking for low-carb protein powders... but for what purpose? I am kind of new to this kind of thing but I was always told to use Whey for while working out/post workout and casein for before bed and if you need to add some protein to a meal.

But I use Isoflex for post workout and Gold Standard Casein for before bed and if I wanna add protein to a meal. Both are super low in calories and carbs. But am I way off here?

What's so good about N2BM compared to Isoflex?

You dont seem way off at all....I dont know whats different about N2BM, I imagine many of the big companies use some same bigger companies to get their product anyways....

Low carb for keto and low carb diets....

Chrisurlich, Thanks ! yes, that's me.

Power36, N2BM has really good products, and Keto dieting can be very effective for fast weight loss, as long as done properly, you have to make sure your body stays in a Ketosis state.

So uhh... come here often? :qt:

Yup Mrs P Ive done various forms of keto and low carb before it was cool....I started off with Duchaines BodyOpus many years ago....and did a keto run in the spring and was 7.9% BF via dunk tank (so its accurate not me guessing) at 233lbs....and I was strong too...so I know it works....but at times its hard unless I get crazy about food prep ahead of time....but my doc is a huge fan of keto diets...so am going to try to get him to order some N2BM stuff to try

Chris, yea I agree my gosh Mrs P is smoking in that pic....but Im assuming since its "Mrs" P, she is taken!

233lbs at 7.9%
bro thats beast! Good work.
Were you on at the time?

Not juice, just 150mg HRT plan to get me in normal range. I was doing double sessions a few days a week. Hard interval training sessions in morning, sprints, sledge hammer work, tire flips, etc. In the afternoons heavy cleans, squats, deadlifts, push/pull sets and assistance work. Lowered calories a bit, was kinda surprised. Was more ripped on that than when doing a blast of Mast+Var and bumping my Test to 400mg!! Its more training and diet for me I think....the two blasts ive done havent really given me more results than Id expect from how everyone else raves from juice....I think I did 400mg Primo blast for 12 weeks first, then a Mast+Var blast for 8 weeks a year later. Helped yes, but not a ton....

Ive been big since high school...was a 235lb running back/linebacker in high school....so 230-240 is normal range for me....7.9% is pushing it though....Im normally 10-12% as homeostasis....well, thats if Im eating somewhat ok and training hard!

Ive never done bodybuilding or been as strict as a bodybuilder in eating...Im an athlete....and I do love olympic and powerlifting, and MMA....but I dont do MMA anymore due to injuries....someday if I can get the mindset to do bodybuilding for 2-3 months and eat like a bodybuilder, might be fun to see what happens hah....for now I train like Im still playing college football, only is 15 years later and a handful of serious injuries, surgeries, and health problems later...so I do not push near the numbers or intensity, or things will snap and rip off (literally)....but I still do ok for a banged up old guy hahah

Thanks bro...
