Fat Girls & drinking water

This fat girl at the gym was telling me yesterday that I drink too much water. She said that if anyone drinks more than 8 0z. glasses of water a day it goes to waste cause the body doesn't absorb it and you just eventually piss it out. personally, I drink one gallon when lifting, and two more during the entire day.
ALSO, she said that if someone's piss color is clear then something is wrong, she said if it's dark then something is wrong. my piss color is clear to yellow shade. Is something wrong with me???
*I know this fat girl is wrong but i'd like you guys to back me up on this one.

I have read various articles about "water intoxication" - but the condition usually applies exclusively (although not always) to endurance atheletes (e.g., marathon runners, etc.,)

The condition is called hyponatremia - and it typically entails a dangerous drop in blood sodium levels...

Again - I think it's only a concern in cases where you are losing a good deal of sodium (i.e., from sweating during a long run) and then drinking too much fluid (i.e., water) that doesn't contain any sodium....

But if you're a bodybuilder - and your diet contains adequate sodium levels - I don't think you should be worried about drinking too much water....but then again, I'm not a doctor!!

My mother once had a girl in the hospital who died from drinking too much water.

She was on E (who knows what else it could have interacted with) and for some reason it made her extremely thirsty. She actually drank untill her electrolite balance was so fucked up she died.

I don't really think you could do it even purposely if you tried unless you were drugged up. I mean normally our bodies would start to vomit at the thought of drinking more water but her signals were all fucked.

That E could've been the known E that has PMA in it instead of MDMA. PMA E is a molecule off from MDMA but it makes it DEADLY though. Alot of of the E that has PMA in it is being passed off as regular E. Because they are making the SAME EXACT logo's on them as the MDMA. When the person take the PMA E then they think they got some weak shit so they buy 1 or 2 more then it raies their body temp up so high that they literally burn up inside. There is nothing they can do for you. If you read up on deaths of E. Most of them will be from the PMA E.

I usually drink at least 1-1.5 gallons a day...and I'm not a very big person by any means. If I don't drink that much, I usually retain water.

And regarding pee color (such a nice topic) there's nothing wrong with it being clear. That just means that it doesn't have a high concentrate of waste. If anything, that's ideal. If it's really bright yellow that means that your kidneys are retaining water because you don't have enough of it in your body-- so you will only release a certain amount with waste, making the color appear darker as there's less dilution. If that makes sense?

Gotta love out of shape people giving nutrition/work out advise. ;)

Obviously you're not too sure about yourself, since the girl that you'd need some back-up against isn't visiting this site. Unless of course you gave her this url when you gave her your phone number.

My sister was talking to me about the same thing.... I didn't think you could have TOO much water, but she said she asked a doctor who said while not enough is a reason for retaining water, so is TOO much.

But I don't think 1-2 gallons a day is too much. Probably much healthier than not enough.

Electrolytes not a problem

Well, if drinking too much water results in some kind of sodium and potassium imbalance then I'm safe because my ketogenic diet has me eating all kinds of sodium-laced stuff.

From what I remember on the Zone Diet (not sure about atkins or straight keto), regulating insulin also had the effect of regulating a hormone in charge of sodium retention so sodium wasn't a big deal on low-carb'ish diets. Look into it.

But really think about this....how many freakin people does anyone know that are dying from water consumption each day? If you check the facts, you'll probably find out that it was to the extreme. If you're an extremist, then be afraid. If you're almost an extremist, then drink away my friends...

She is fat, so she hasn't a clue what she's talking about, in addition to that, she is retarded. Your pee is supposed to be clear, and I doubt anyone can drink too much water, cause you would pee most of it out. I would tell her, "shut up you fat bitch, water is healthy, its mcdonald's milkshakes that are bad for you, so stop drinking them"

Maybe I'm missing something, but I thought when you died from too much water it was called drowning.

LOL true true!
All I know is that during your workout if you drink more water than you sweat, it messes up something in your body and effects your workout (is this true?).... and when your dehydrated and don't have enough water, then your pee is like yellow.

what is the conversion of gallons and litres

i drink at least 8 bottles of water a day..thats 8x750ml which = 6800ml=6.8L
is that normal?

Mind testing this out for us and posting the results? Or have your relatives post the Death Notice. lol jk

Unbelievable shit...

Drinking water is good for you. period. Doing anything, like drinking water, excessively is stupid. period.

Water (i.e. sweat & pee) remove all the excess shit that your body can't use or restore as fat. This most true while training hard and having increased metabolism. I've calculated peeing 10-20 times per day during my diets 'cause I drink a lot of water to keep up my metabolism. And that actually... is quite stupid :D

Anyways, Happy Valentines & train/pee a lot today :wavey:

I think that considering most of us are injecting large quantities of illegal performance/ physique enhancement hormones into our bodies every week, the last thing I'm personally gonna be worrying about is suddenly dying in the hospital from an excessive water intake.Since when did we start listening to what fat people had to say about health related issues?
Otherwise, everything Greenday said.

"Although there are many possible causes, the symptoms of water intoxication are virtually the same; nausea, vomiting, anorexia, dizziness, stupor, headache, blurred vision, incontinence, muscle cramps, tremors, convulsions, and death"

If you only see one bar overhead when benching, you're OK.
Geez, I can go through 3 bottles of water in a 90-minute workout.

You must also remember the one of the liver's main jobs it to "burn fat" thru various mechanisms. If you are dehydrated, the liver must then help the kidneys excrete waste from the body therby rendering it's job less effective.

this girls is plain and simply DUMB.... yes high water consumption causes you to piss it out...

HOWEVER...

in order to piss it out your body has to raise the temperature of the water which takes energy to do... thus you burn calories... WATER is the only substance that is calorie FREE and takes calories to remove it from the body. Its called a negative calorie food.... KEEP DRINKING!
