61 Chev cross-flag Impala bubble-top, 409/409, 4 sp with a 3.90 rear end and solid lifters, and dual point ignition. It ran 12's and was heavy and LOUD. Picture in gallery. I found it on a used car lot on East Jefferson, downtown Detroit. They came from the factory that way.
The 66 vette was fast too, but did not have solid lifters. I had to stay under 5,600 for shifts. I bought that new. I ran that on the street in the glory years.
lets see...the fastest I went was 120mph on rt.3 here in Jersey. I then got pulled over and proceded to take out about 10 construction cones because I was trashed. ...I didnt get a DUI but I did get 9 points on my license in one night. 5 for speeding that fast and 4 for reckless driving. the cops even pulled their guns on me...woo hoo. I was 21 at the time and that was the last time I went over 100mph. I cant afford to speed nowadays.
I forgot my other brother had a 70 Mach 1 (orange) and a W31 Olds Cutlass they both made your head snap back but not sure how fast they were. under 13 seconds anyway. In 1980 that was still fast on the street LOL
I bought a '87 928s4 last year
21,000 miles and I'm restoring her(sun damage)
just got some aftermarket wheels
looks exactly like this(much like yours)
