Fade Scars

I got 23 stiches on my right arm. all different places, hand, wrist, forearm. this happened a few months ago when I put my hand through my bedroom window after the bar one night.
How can i treat scars, they are red and above the skin. I was going to talk to a plastic surgeon or a doc who does lazer but not sure if there is a OTC drug to apply. Help is appreciated.

Damn, I'm not sure.

A guy I bounce with was drunk (off duty) the other night and he put his arm through one of the huge plate glass windows at the front of the bar. It slice all sorts of major tendons in his wrist- lots of blood. The doc said he'll be back 100% eventually, but it will be a couple of months.

I don't know but I have a scar on my right side of my back that the doctor said I will have for life....I don't think there is anything you can do.

i have a big scar on my knee from a boat prop. it was raised and red for a while. i put vitamin e oil on it every night. it will flatten out and lose the redness eventually. keep it out of the sun or put sunscreen on it if you are out or it will get darker.

I have a scar and I read in several fitness mags to put Vitamin E on it. I did and it's faded somewhat over time.

ya silicon sheeting?

Its the new OTC-scar treatment.

Works by putting silicon-based patches on the scar
over-night(8hrs)(or more).

Helps the scar be warm and this helps the healing process
quicken.

It takes about 4 months to work but it does visibly reduce
the apperance of the scar.

Goes for $60/month to buy the patches.

An friend of mine uses them for his arm. They work quite well.

I'd try this out before Microderm-abrasion, or derm-abrasion.

Its main use is actually to treat Keloid scars(acne).

I thought about trying microdermabrasion for my stretch marks. I talked to a plastic surgeon about it. He said it wouldn't make it disappear but it would lighten them a lot.
