Ever think you were born in the wrong generation?

For some reason, I have really gained an affinity to watching old movies or more specifically history about the evolution of television, radio, etc. I have these PBS channels that show this stuff and I sometimes think I grew up in the wrong generation.

Granted this could simply be ignorance on my part since I truly do not know what it was like living in the first half of the 20th century but things seemed much simpler back then.

Living the beaver cleaver lifestyle seems nice to me for some reason.

Which leads me to another subtitle.

Even though I do not adhere to a religion, I sometimes think that it would be nice if this country retrograded into the times of when religion played such a heavy part in society, things that happen today would not even be considered by someone back then. Or was it that it still happened but due to the media's heavy impact on today's society, we find out how fucked up society really is?

I mean, back in the 50's it seemed so tranquil but again, this is out of pure ignorance.

Was it just as chaotic back then or did that beaver cleaver type shit actually happen?

This was brought to you by my boredom stricken mind that desperately needs to start working again so I don't go insane with being around my wife and my daughter 24 hours a day, five days a week LOL

Yes I used to.
I would have loved to have been an outlaw in the old west. But then I realized with asthma and being allergic to horses I wouldn't have lasted long. Plus I really really hate being outside in the heat/cold - lol.

After watching The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford I wanted to live in the 19th century for a while at least. Wasn't as much bs back then and the few problems there were could always be solved quickly.

sometimes. i was raised by a much different generation than most of my peers. my parents, particularly my father, are significantly older than most with children my age. i do find myself liking things from older eras but i am also in love with the current technology. i cant say that i wish i had been born in a previous era.
