Ever Seen This In Your Gym?

Ok just got back from the gym. I saw a guy doing abs (crunches) on a bench, and he was wearing a weight belt! Sorta defeats the purpose of the crunches.

no but i saw a guy running on the tredmill and taking breaks to stretch.

he was wearing hannes underwear

nope, but i have seen a lady on the elliptical with one of those belts that give you abs. it was advertised heavily on tv a few yrs back.

you mean as pants? or were you checkin out his ass and saw the tag

i mean as in underwear. my friend was running on the tredmill because he finished his workout and we were going to swim after. when i went to tell him i was finished, i just saw the dude get off the tredmill and start stretching in hannes underwear

I've seen an old guy who wears neoprene sleves on both elbows and both knees, gloves, wrist-wraps, lifting straps and a broad weight belt that's entirely too tight. He screams on every rep and asks people to hold him down while he does lat pull downs with entirely too much weight.

He's asked me for help before and I run away from him after getting him started because I don't even want to be seen near him when he tears or breaks something.

that is messed up man... only women are allowed to wear their underwear to the gym

he probably wore it while doing shrugs in the smith machine and forgot he had it on. in fact, he wears it everywhere, even in the shower.

I have seen fools getting out of their cars at the gym already wearing gloves and a weight belt.

that is frickin hilarious...

bet they were drivin a ferrari and needed those driving gloves and belt for safety... lol

83 white mustang convertible.

Ask calveless about him... he's Mr. Security at the gym.

I only wear a belt for protecting my back... I take it off for anything that doesn't put pressure on my spine. And I don't like the cost of re-padding my benches and macines after they get poked and ripped by belt buckles. I do, however, wear a 6" padded belt tight when doing spider curls or preacher curls. I can feel a strain in my lower back if I don't, even though I'm using proper posture. I also have a 4" non-padded belt that I like to use for military presses.

i've seen this guy before.
milding annoying more amusing...the guy that really tweaks me is the guy
who stacks sheetloads of plates on the leg press, has people stand on the machine to provide
additional weight, then proceeds to bust out hand assited 1/4 presses.
coulda saved alotta time putting 225 on the bar and squatting

It's possible that for someone with a back problem, a weight belt might help keep crunches from hurting the back. I don't know, but as a man with a bad back, I can say that stranger things can help.

I wear a 4" non-padded belt when bench pressing, which some people laugh at. But they wouldn't laugh if they had ever felt what a pinched sciatic nerve is. Wearing the 4" belt seems to help me prevent sciatic attacks. I wear a 6" padded leather belt for all standing lifts. Personally I don't wear any belt for abs.

Oh brother!!!

The only way I'd believe that pic, is if the spotter is curling, and the one on the ball is actually hanging onto the bar and not lifting. I think somebody staged that...

look at the strain on his face.. not to mention the scrawny bitch in back couldn't curl that to begin with.
