Ever seen a tornado up close?

I was up on the foothills the day one went through downtown Salt Lake. It tore a bunch of chunks off of the Delta Center, knocked a crane down, it was intense. I was maybe 2 miles away and had a good view of it. That's about as close as I'd care to get.

Yeah, when I was in the third grade I saw a tornado rip through a small town. We saw it rip through neighborhoods, an industrial park, a school bus factory, and a tank farm. It was awesome. Even saw it dissipate and rise back into the clouds.

That would have been Spring, 1964.

I don't remember exactly when...maybe 2 years ago here in south FL, I was driving to work in the afternoon on the highway with heavy thunderstorms when one of those shits came down in front of me like 10 miles away...as soon as I got to my office we were watching the whole shit on TV lol It was just a category one, fucked up some trees and one house. No casualties.

We dont have tornado's here in oz but as a child a cyclone hit our area and from what I can remember it was pretty scary.Nothing like you have over in the states though.

I saw one really close, it picked up our house, and spun me around and around, there were people flying by, and then it quit, and dropped the house on some old poor lady.....or maybe it was a dream........

Yep, I've seen three here in Texas....

We call them la escoba de dios....the broom of God.....or something like that.

They do some freaky stuff too.....

there were 2 twisters....one on each side to the split portion of the highway...I thought I was dead

Yeah, once at Indian River Inlet in Delaware, about 12 years ago. It came right through the bay. Here we are camping out in tents along the water and a fucking tornado is off the shore.

Later we drove down to OC Maryland in my brother's truck, playing in main street through feet of water in a downpour, only trucks and Jeeps were out that night!

when i was a kid, we had a tornado warning out so we went to my grandmothers house who had a basement, and when we were going in the basement, it went over the house, not directly over it, prob a mile to the left......scared me to death
