I'll bring my air mattress.......

LOL I can see it now - a bunch of peeps outside in the snow @ the front knocking on the door in goofy hats saying "Let us in! Let us in!"

invite 3-4 EF'ers....that party will be over in 10-15 minutes, tops.

We could be the bouncers.....or just annoy them back home....

do you live anywhere near baltimore? i still have no plans for new years eve. probably watch the dick clark countdown again with my mom. i wish i could do something different this time around.

man, you are nuts. I would not invite people over, in fact I hate people!

you know what happened? i was thinking "you know, i like bob and lori whateverstien. maybe i'll invite them over."
and then I thought that if i was inviting them, i'd invite another friend that they know, so it wouldn't just be 2 people. Then i realized that there was another couple who knows both of them... i should invite them too. Then so and so mentioned not having plans, so i thought "awww, well i like them... i'll invite them too. what's two more?"
then my boys wanted to invite 3 friends each. they stay to themselves, so... ok. but i know the parents, so i invited them...

i like people, but in SMALL doses. and much more at someone elses house. not mine.

sure! you be the door person. tell everyone they aren't dressed right and send them away. i'll give you cookies.

I used to have these brainfarts back in the day, when my kids were REAL little no less. What can I say? I was a REAL glutton for punishment!

Havent felt the need to be hostessy in many a moon. LOL Now I am the one that shows up with bottle in hand, eats your food and drinks your shit then leaves when you are on the brink of exhaustion. ;)

(If me and the Old Grump come over, can we have cookies too?)

of course. ask pam though, she's bringing the cookies.
i really don't know why i felt like this would be fun. i think the fact that i'm not working made my self feel guilty that i should be the one that does this.

meanwhile, i got some silver for christmas and a few gemstones ( i make jewelry), which i've been dying to do, but do i have time? nooooooo. today is grocery shopping and taking down the christmas stuff.

LOL

I got two very neat rings for Christmas. Well, we were supposed to be out Christmas shopping the day before and my mean old grump of a husband MADE ME buy them for myself! Very pretty - only a few made by local artists in Grapevine, TX. One is really cool. Only 10 of them. It is silver with interchangeable glass beads. Comes with a whole sack of marbles and the name is so funny "got all your marbles"?! LMFAO so appropriate for me! I change the beads every day, get compliments all the time. I would imagine you'd probably make really funky stuff like that. My hubby "pushed me" on the local artist's guild. of they like my stuff they may allow me space in their gallery... and he is "pushing me" to take art classes. I have always wanted to learn how to blow glass and bend wire.... Talk about your accidents waiting to happen!!!

PAM - I LOVE OATMEAL RAISIN... YOU KNOW, THE REALLY SQUISHY SOFT ONES.

(I'm not picky. Just saying is all. ;))

if you're planning on taking classes in TX, i'm sure you have a few places to choose from. if you're going to take them in your other state- i know of one or two, although i think neither is that close to you.
glass blowing is really cool, BUT, you need a dedicated workshop and a lot of equipment. even if money isn't an issue, its a big investment (in time and space and setup). I'm going to get a kiln this year, so i can fuse glass though (plus use it for jewelry). That's something you might want to consider instead.
The ring sounds nice- i prefer hand made pieces too.

It will definitely be in Texas. I will be totally out of Jersey by June.

I have no clue what any of this stuff entails. Thank you for the heads up. I am very eager to get out there and DO SOMETHING. Laying on the floor crying all day is kinda played out... y'know? ;)

yeah, that's not a great hobby.
:worried:

here's one of the places I get a lot of glass supplies:
http://www.delphiglass.com/
or here: http://www.warner-criv.com/default.aspx

take a look around. The second one offers classes and although it's a BIT of a trip, its doable for a one day class for you.

The people we met while we were in Grapevine were amazing. The make such beautiful "stuff" One of the Instructors at UT Arlington is a well known artist that does unbelievable glass work. When he gets back from Vacation I am going to push the old grumpkini to meet up and start work. The Director of the art guild gave us her cell (divorced) she wants a guest appearance on our radio thing. AND she made a "nookie pillow" ya have to ask kinigrump about that piece.
:santa:

She hardly ever is in the corner anymore..

Ahhhhhhhhh the nookie pillow, affectionately renamed the coochie caller by my brother-in-law. It seems that my sister and he are waaaaaaaaay happier since I gifted her one for Christmas!!!

what 'radio thing'?

there's an artist 'community' near my house that's really cool. I think they can live there, either on a grant, or if they pay themselves, and they get a workshop. there are classes and shops open to the public. i think this summer I might take a class or two there, but they aren't cheap (and i definately do NOT want to live with those freaks).

oh, yippee. two more people said they'd stop by. my next door neighbors, who don't live in a house. they live in a mansion. my house could fit in their kitchen.

If so... which ones?

isn't new years eve tomorrow??
if not, i'm in trouble.

I should have AAP supply the adult entertainment. that'll teach my neighbors not to come to my house.
