Estrogen, all that bad?

Hi All, me again. I've been thinking about this whole HRT/TRT thingy... (Yip, it's a Sunday, way to much time on my hands :) )

I myself have unfortunately not yet had my E (1,2,3) levels checked yet, but will do so shortly.

Every individual is different, we agree, and we agree that a little bit of E is reqruired to function optimally. Everyone always assumes that as soon as you apply exo T, that E is going to be a problem. But what if, as in my case, the HPTA axis has shut down completely and the individual is completely devoid of any usable sex hormones (Cortisol, T, E, etc). Then it may well be wise not to go anti E?

I gues what I am asking is, what are the symptoms of to little Estrogen?

Whilst everyone chews on that question, any and all comments are welcome. I will be having my E levels tested shortly and let everyone know what the outcome of that is, but in the mean time I look forward to hearing the comments of the symptoms of low to no E...

Cheers
H

T is not the only source of E. Most people with low test actually have E levels on the high end of normal range. So even if your HPTS is 100 shutdown (not likely unless on exo test) then you still have E. If you are on exo test then you often times have ample T for aromatization in addition to your bodies other natural (often amplified) sources of E.

Signs of low estrogen are sometimes headaches and joint pain.

High E can come from other sources example is if you consume high amounts of alcohol (Beer, etc) you will have high E. As mentioned by Zyg low estogen will represent itself with joint discomfort or pain among others. I know of people with E on the high end (70 +) who do not show issues at all, its just high but their bodies are with it. There there are others who suffer from joint pain, etc.

High estrogen can cause men alot of problems. Erectile dysfunction,,gyno,,prostate problems,,emotional issues,,etc.. You need some estrogen to grow but dont let it get out of control.

Hi All, thanks for the replies. I s'pose as individuals one size will not fit all. But it is good to get all the different opinions so that a fuller picture can be formed.

Peace..

Back again, did some googlin'

Does anyone have any anecdotal evidence regarding the use of natural foods that are said to exhibit an AI effect? I suppose it is difficult to ascertain the effectiveness of such foods as it takes AI's 'bout 60 days to manifest their effects, not so?

Anyway, as usual comments will be highly appreciated

Estrogen levels fluctuate on a daily basis, but extreme highs and lows can wreck havoc on your energy, mood, and health. Manufacturers are pumping our food full of hormones that are stored in the tissue of your body. These synthetic hormones are toxic to your system. Knowing the foods to avoid and the foods that will help flush out toxic levels can help restore your life to balance. One by-product of excess estrogen is increased fat on your hips, belly, thighs and buttocks! Think about it, the meat industry use hormones to plump up animals for slaughter. Hormones do the same thing to your body that is why men don't usually carry weight in their buttocks and hip area. So extra estrogen in your diet will add extra pounds.
The easiest way to stop the cycle is to stop eating meats all together, but for some of us that is a choice we do not want to make. Fortunately the food industry has recognized the consumers desire for fewer additives in our foods. Organic meat is available at most grocery stores now. The cost is more, but so is the cost of diet foods and medical help! The idea plan would be to cut your consumption of meat to twice a week and increase your consumption of seafood.

Foods that flush away estrogen deposits have indole-3 carbinol and sulforaphane, which is found in leafy and cruciferous vegetables. These vegetables improve your livers ability to metabolize estrogen in less than a week! Eat at least one cup a day of cabbage, broccoli, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, or leafy green vegetables like spinach. Lightly steam the vegetables, do not overcook, as you will kill the nutrients your body needs. Be sure to drink 8 glasses of water a day to flush out the body as you detox!

There are foods that help block estrogen. The fats in avocados, nuts, olives, and seeds help your body to produce progesterone, which blocks estrogen. Women can double their weight loss by adding as little as 1 oz of nuts or seeds a day to their diet. If you don't have time or don't like nuts or seeds add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to your diet each day.
Foods to avoid when you are trying to block estrogen are bacon, soy, beer, sausage and licorice!

BTW, is it the fibre in the veggies and fruits that reduce estrogen load or do the nutrients etc contained in the foods result in the reduction?
