Guaifenesin is an expectorant. I've heard it can cause nausea in high doses, but I've personally never had any problems with it. Just make sure to get the eph HCl 25mg/200mg and not the 12.5mg/200mg tabs if you want to minimize how much guaif you take.
guaifenesin is an expectorant, but even though its not labeled as such its also a adrenergic blocker and anaesthetic. it was grandfathered in as an expectorant, it would never have gotten FDA approval.
the longer acting version of it is commonly used in veterinary anaesthesia
