Almost sick enough of George's cheap assness with the pics that ppl post ( even when it's a non-plat member posting ).

Hell I wonder if his cheap ass compensates those ppl that post the pics.

Maybe if this site wasn't such a cheap, tight-assed place to visit, I'd support it again through my MQ purchases again. Although I'd doubt getting burned a second time though accidental truncation of product content is acceptable.

Just ranting about the downhill slide this place has taken in a year:

pop-ups,platinum membershiat,jacked photos posts...........I understand turning a profit for any business, but at the cost of quality?

hey man, I totally see your viewpoint. had I not paid for plat, I would want all the free access too.

but then stepping back and looking at how much the site actually costs to run everyday brings it back into the reality that this thing is expensive as hell and at best needs to break even, and would ideally help bring in profit either directly from the board or increased MQ sales.

I have full appreciation for the costs involved. But when every click on the forum becomes another attempt to get $$$ out of you.........

IT's just a lot dirtier than it used to be around here. Not to mention the new wonderful spam you recieve in your e-mail box ( and I just don't mean the EF related ones ).

I wonder how much $$$ EF's mailing list brought in.....

Seriously, thanks Happy and Kronkette, the board does cost more and more to run, and our Platinum members make it all possible. And to say thanks, we keep adding new features for them. Like the new stealth url. What other board offers this?

Well at the end of the day it is the members who post here who make the board a success. I don't see that the board should necessarily be profit-making or even break even. It is more like a form of advertising, and advertising always costs money for those who use it to sell their goods.

I suppose the heart of the matter is whether the board can be used to generate publicity for the money-making ventures of those who own it. In that sense it shouldn't be expected to be self-funding in itself. Members also shouldn't get upset by its commercialism either. That is why we have the pop-ups and promo, etc. If it's free then that's the price you pay.

I do, however, get annoyed by having the pop-ups forced down my throat, be it on this site or any other. But this seems to be the norm these days. I keep coming back because of the interesting members and the fact that there is no real alternative to this board.

In terms of watering down the site - limiting access to things like pictures - I suppose the overabundance of members means that the site's owners can afford to do this. So what if people leave - it is overprescribed anyway.

However, just because I use this site doesn't mean I should subsidise it. By posting here I make a contribution. Without members posting there would be no site, not matter how good it is or how well it is run. If the owners can't translate this site's success into a profit (which I am sure they will) then that is a problem with their business strategy. I don't see that people should subsidise a site which is intended for profit making purposes.

If the owners were making a loss which wouldn't ultimately be an investment in some future profit for what they market through the site, i think this place would have had the plug pulled long ago. I don't see the need to subsidise any site that is not part of a non-profit venture. If the owners are (or ultimately will) make a profit from the exposure this site gives them, then why should I, as a financially strapped university student, subsidise someone else's advertising and profits.

Just my thoughts.

I voiced my opinon a long time ago when you were looking at different ways to help offset the costs of this board. If you remember a while back I suggested that you indeed take on advertisers ( like Kara's ) when you were leary about adult content sponsors.

It just is concerning that you have seemed to take any and all ways of generating positve cash flow from these boards. Covering the costs no longer became a goal for you........profit from them did.

You may need to be reminded once and a while that it IS the members here that made this site a success, and ulitmately your other ventures.

Just suggesting you might give something back to your members by backing down your revenue machine a notch. Nobody likes to come to a place where the owner's hand is always extended for bill to be paid, rather than a handshake.

I dont know if you guys know anything about bandwith, but it isnt cheap these days. Now I know of a board that uses a few terabytes worth of bandwith and it costs him about $1500 a month to run the site, but he doesnt charge. I dont agree with some of the site, but its not my site to complain about. Its like running a business. There are some people that have business out there and dont run them the way I would, but like I said. Its their business not mine.
