ELLE Magazine articles

For anyone interested, check out the article in the new ELLE (the J. Aniston one) called "Fear of Muscle". It's about the typical female attitude towards weight training. I thought you all might be interested. They also have an article in there about the benefits of Peanut Butter in the diet and how it can aid weight loss. Someone over there at ELLE must be checking out BB boards or something.

Paleeze I can't stand it!

You know, those gals in the gym who will absolutly not do squats because they might get "bigger" I explain till I'm blue in the face that they will not because they have estrogen -- to no avail. They're convinced that picking up more than 10# = the HULK! BWHAA!

yes, u lift a 30lb dumbbell and its all down hill from there...size gets MASSIVE!!!!!

I just love hearing women saying how the tiniest bit of weight training makes them "bulk easily", so they stick to cardio and high reps of low weights.

Their bodies are soft and skinny like wet noodles. Who would've guessed they're all really Ms. Olympias in disguise, just squandering all that genetic greatness... :p (yeah right!)

...so the rest of us lesser mortals can enjoy our little bit of hard-earned muscle.

I love it when women..or especially men say they do not train legs because their legs get SO BIG...get BULKY...and have a hard time finding jeans to fit etc....I have heard that so many times.....i find it very funny when it comes from a guy who has tiny BIRD legs and lil calves.......an excuse to avoid the PAIN!

new@ -- WOW I see those Guys all the time

Week in and week out they lift tons on Chest, Back, Bi's and Tris.. The, below the baggy shorts out come two toothpicks for legs. Now don't get me wrong, they do look good on top, but they're so out of proportion it's pathetic. I guess they keep their pants on;) .

Got another one for ya ...
These two teenage twinkies workinig out and they proceed to do 1 chest exercise, db lunges, cable flyes (yup back to chest), Seated rows, incline bench presses, calf raises, shoulder presses, lat pull downs.
Yup, this is the order in which they did thier "workout" . And me, I can't hold back anymore so I burst out laughing! So they look at me with a wondering gaze and I say ' gee, it's your sandels. I've never seen anyone in the gym wearing sandels before!'

I absolutely agree with you guys. I will benching my 200lbs or curling my 30lbs and women tell me I look great and cannot believe someone as small (5'4", 118lbs, <12%bf) as me can lift all that weight. I remind them that women don't have the amount of test as men and that the also don't have the biochemistry naturally to gain the size that men do. One of their many responses is that they just want to get toned. Then I tell them they can't sculpt something that is not their and they still refuse to lift heavier than 10lbs. I am amazed, even with live proof in front of them, they still do not believe. Go figure!

How weird. I use to tell my femal and some male clients that all the time. If it were only that easy, I wouldn't even consider gear.
