EEeeek!!! Weight fluctuation

Just making sure I'm not freaking out too much, but what is the average weight fluctuation that you ladies all experience?
Over the past 3 days, I've gone up 3 pounds.. Is that normal?

i go up and down up to 5 pounds depending on the time of day , time of week , time of month i weigh myself

maybe i'm just a mutant? :spin:

Well, what has been going on in those 3 days?

Food intake? Workouts? Time of the month? Water intake?

Can be hormone related, too much salt, too little fluid, too much food, increased water intake, constipation, more working out, less working out, less caffeine (diuretic), etc etc .....

Did you weigh yourself at the same time everyday?

THIS is why weighing yourself everyday is silly. Too many variables impact weight. Weight alone is a meaningless number.

What Daisy Girl said...

IMO, Stop weight yourslef honey, seriously, 1-2 x a week is it, same time same day preferably NOT after a binge/sheat or carb up unless you are watching how fast you can drop water post cheat.

my average fluct's have been 5-10 lbs this time around. *yes im kinda abnormal*

OH.. thank heavens.. I'm glad to see that I too am "abnormally abnormal":qt:

I know over the past few days my skin is breaking out pretty bad.. I've been trying to eat more protein than I have in awhile as well (Turkey) But I'm staying within my macros.
I'm sure that I could be needing to drink more water.
I'll stop the everyday weigh-in adn see how that goes..
Thank you so much

:) Could be toxins tryng to clear out, bad weather, LIFE, stress etc...

WATER is great for hydrating your skin from the inside out :)

;)

I have a ten pound range I could be at the top or bottom of in a 1/2 -7 day range.

3lb overnight is easy to put on - it's just water
if your diet is typically good it's easy on easy off

ps. 1 gallon of water is 8lbs - if you're the slightest bit dehydrated and you drank a lot of water and didn't really do anything active during the day - you're going to hold on to quite a bit of that water

Watch your trends in weight vs the absolutes over short periods of time & use better measures of bodyfat - 7-10 pt skin fold / pinch caliper measures or even just how your clothes fit & how you look vs weight which only measures the total of you bone, muscle mass, fat mass & water - too many variables to be able to say you are "getting fatter" or not. Its most likely water weight but I wouldn't even bother getting on a scale more than 1x/week just to get a data point. Look at how you feel, how your clothes fit or regular intervals of bodyfat ratio measures.
