I love watching the first UFCs because of the commentary! Looking back on it now you can really see how utterly clueless Jim Brown and all the other commentators, and all the viewers for that matter, were when it came to really fighting.
Its great because its their job to say something, whether they know what the hell they are talking about or not; and when they didnt, it really showed, too.
I love the Goodrige/Herrera fight then Herrera shoots, ends up in a crucifix, and then the commentator says that Herrera is a skilled ground fighter and should be out of this position in no time...then RIGHT AFTER he says that, Goodrige unleashed the elbows and knees to the temples and damn near kills Herrera.
"....Herrera should be out of this quic...elbows....in number.....oh my."
The commentary, and better yet, the speculation about the fights is almost as entertaining as the actual fights.
