Dress shirt question

What brand names fit you guys well? I wear a 17 34/35 dress shirt which is usually a XL. My problem is a shirt that fits my upper torso alright is way too baggy when I get down to my waist since it's a 32. It looks really awkward. I've tried Perry Ellis, DKNY, Van Heusen, and Claiborne. Van Heusen is the only one that's somewhat tapered. Can anyone recommend any brand names I can try?

Same problem. In order to get a shirt that fits me in the shoulders, it ends up being a fucking tent in the middle. Clothing makers are adapting to America getting fatter, that's why you see that.

I've never found a brand that fits me well. Closest is Joseph Abud, but that can get pricy. Fortunately, I don't have do wear dress shirts anymore. But the ones I do have that I really like, including a Polo which is one of the worst offenders, I've paid to have altered. And I'm no monster by any means. I don't see how the real big boys do it, other than to have their clothes made for them.

Anyway, options: A lot of stores will have a "fitted" or "athletic fit" section in their dress shirts areas. Also, big and tall stores aren't just for fat guys. They do have athletic fit areas as well.

None of them. I have to get mine altered. Buy it to fit in the neck, shoulders, chest, and arms, and then have the waist taken in about 15 inches or so.

Like gymtime said, look for the brands that sell fitted or athletic cut shirts. I wear a 17 1/2 by 37. and if it isn't athletic cut, I won't bother buying it. I think JC Penney has a house brand with decent athletic cut sizes (if you don't mind shopping there). Buying shirts totally sucks.

Same here.. Or I buy John Henry Athletic fit shirts but the choice is pretty limited for a well built stud like me!

Look for Stafford athletic cut at JCPenney. Try one and see if it fits you right. I found they're good on me.

Guys, just buy a normal dress shirt, take it to a tailor and spend $5-$10 having it taken in. The price ads up if you have to do it with every shirt you buy, but ya gotta go what ya gotta do.

Price of the shirt doesn't necessarily mean much. I own a few italian shirts which don't fit any better than the $15 one I bought at Wal-Mart (hey, I spilled coffee on myself during lunch, ok?!?).

I wear 35/36 with a 17 inch neck, so belive me I know the hell of finding a decent fitting shirt.

Just looks alot better when you have them tailored, but don't you f*ckin' juiceheads have to get new clothes with every cycle? You just get bigger and bigger, shame on you guys!
