I often read that especially as a beginner you shouldnt really worry about the small details, like if a beginner says something like "but if Im doing only barbell curls for my bi's at he end of the backworkout my peak isnt getting much work and I want more peak" most people will say to just put on alot of mass and your peak will increase as will your whole bicep.
I also read you cannot completely isolate any one muscle, so you cant make say the front delt do all the work in front raises, the whole delt comes into it but a front raise concentrates on the front delt more than the side and rear.
So would there be any major disadvantages if for the moment I did only seated calf raises for my calves? I prefer them so much more and get a much better contraction, and I can really feel the calf straining when I go heavy. I also get a much more painful burn. So if I cant completely isolate the calf then the gastrocnemius should still be recruited aswell as the soleus just not as much, right?
Will I really get unproportioned calves with a big soleus and not a big gastrocnemius? I still consider myself a beginner, I have been lifting for a little over a year...
