I was gonna say Rufus, but i like some of the above mentioned names more.

Gator, Glock would be my short list.

Axel does not sound like a tough name to me, reminds me of Eddie Murphy and didn't he cop off with a tranny.

Dogs need a short sounding name no more that 2 Syllabus, OXIBALLS is too long you dog may start to get confused if people call him OXI for short.

I named one of my pits Huevos De Toro-it's even on his papers. It mean's bull's balls in spanish. I call him "Toro" for short, and "Fucking Asshole" when he pisses me off.

Keep in mind if your dog ever bites anyone, the dog's name being "Killer" isn't going to look too good on the police report.
