Well, after whites freed blacks from slavery, they were free to work at paying jobs.

On behalf of all white people, i'd like to say 'you're welcome'

Also, before brown/board of education, 75% of blacks lived under the poverty line. TOday, only 25% live under the poverty line. By not socially segregating blacks, they are more able to partake in the economy.

Once again, 'you're welcome'.

hey, i am just a realist. do you know what that means???i look at REALITY. this causes a viscious cycle. ( majority ) blacks hate whites. ( minority ) whites hate blacks. this causes a growing tension for the white community. add this up and you get a growing population of angry white folk or crackers as u might say. u know what this will lead to don't u???? this is reality.

You're blind to your own form of prejudice. Ironically, you think you're helping matters while you make them worse.

The is the kettle calling the pot black (no pun intended).

So you think that there is an equal playing field when it comes to blacks and whites in America? If so, then you are disillusioned.

It may be true that a good number of people can achieve and prosper in their lives (no matter the background) but it is an undeniable fact that the game is rigged against the socioeconomically challenged. Namely black people in the United States of America.

Why are there more black people in the criminal system (per capita)? Why are more blacks in America living below the poverty line than whites (per capita)? Is it because they are lazier, dumber, less apt or less able? No, it is because of their place on the totem pole and that is a fact.

I do not say this to take away personal responsibility. People must take responsibility for their actions (or inactions). The point is to accept the truth about the situation of urban and rural poor (namely blacks) and to at least remove some of the barriers that impede their progression (if not aid them directly).

My final piece of evidence is the president of the United States. If he were no given every advantage and opportunity in life, he would be bankrupting another corporation instead of bankrupting America.

Blacks demanded an end to segregation and got it, in spite of popular opinion in many parts of the country. Our economy is now the world's best, and our culture is too. So on behalf of all Americans I say to you: "deal with it".
