Does this happen in your gym?

Just bring a gallon of water with you and don't "walk away" from a bench in a crowded gym.

(how come everytime someone here posts how upset they get about a crowded gym - they always point out how "weak" or "small" these gym MEMBERS are.

I may be the biggest guy in the gym at most times - but I would "never" belittle "anyone" trying to better themselves.

I'm not saying everyone bitching here is an a$$hole - but all I picture is the guy who HAS to have the bench RIGHT in the center of the mirror, - he "looks" crazy - has his walkman on - and he's making loud-shrieking noises as he revs-up for his next set. As I watch - I try not to chuckle, but these guys are wasting more energy and TIME in between sets, and never really do THAT much lifting - and when they do - the form is pathetic.

here's my point - I can ALWAYS find a piece of equiptment to workout on - even when the line for some machines is 3-deep.

I take busy opportunities like the early part of the year to try out some different machines that I would never think to use when there's just a couple of us in the gym. years ago, when the gym would REALLY be busy - I would grab a couple of bumbells and head onto an empty raquetball court, shut the lights out and do lunges until I puked, or passed out............

All I'm saying is BE CREATIVE and NEVER use "people" as an excuse for wussing out of a workout of even for having a bad workout................

you're all stronger than that...........

STOP THE INSANITY!!!

I had some new gym members come up to me thinking I was a trainer - they commented that I look better than the actual trainers employed there. Be patient - by February things should slow down.

I think the biggest problem with new people is they dont understand the basic gym rules. My pet peeves are

1.) the guy talking on his cell phone for 10 mins while you are trying to use the equipment.

2.) the guy doing 8 sets of lat pull downs for 40 reps each set, so they can get ripped.

3.) the super social gym guy that walks around and talks to everyone and gives out pointers while he doesnt even touch a weight.

I lifted this morning and it was total fucking chaos. People were everywhere. I am ready for the new years people to finish up their quest for a comeback. I had this guy taking up a flat bench. He had 2 dimes on. Does this shit happen in your gym? The club that I am in offers a special before christmas.

yeah i just got back up school and it was ridiculous. all these fuckin people goin to work out standing in a long ass line to get in and i know that by february half of them wont be there. yeah its annoying. waiting in line to use a bench press.

This is the first year that I haven't had to deal with the "New Year's" crowd, nor the "spring break" crowd, which will start in another month. My gym is all regulars. I don't think I've seen a new person yet. I love it. It's so nice to avoid all the BS. I'm all for people starting to work out, but what we are all annoyed with is the cocky attitude and lack of respect that comes with it. For all the people trying to make positive changes I got nuttin' but love for ya!

College towns are the worst. The beginning of every quarter has a huge influx of new members who might last 2 weeks at the most before giving up. The new girls coming in make it even worse. Many'a bench press sessions have been cut short because I couldn't lay down :)

I do not think they are looking down on others who are trying to get in shape they are just commenting on the ones who day dream about getting in shape and take up time and space on the machines when some one who is serious about training and getting in shape has to stall their work out until they get finish dreaming. Do not get me wrong there are people that are new to the gym and train their asses off then there are the ones that just get in the way of every one else and eventually do not come to the gym any more. It is just reality and no denying it.

Just my 2 cents but i think it is pretty damn rude to be critizing people whi are trying to put forth an effort to better themselves wether they stick with it or not I don't think anyone should be critizied for it. Where does anyone get off on making fun of them just because you are now in the position you are in looking and feeling good about yourself and able to lift a good amount of weight. Remember you were all there at one time or another. :rainbow:

I do not think the Elite boarb members are thinking thet are Ronnie Coleman. They are just commenting on shit that gets on their nerves in the gym. I know just about every one on this board who trains at a gym other than home has someting in there gym that gets on their nerves and they have a right to commit on it even though they do not look like Ronnie Coleman. So your saying Ronnie Coleman can commit on things with out anybody challenging him because he is big. That to me sounds like some flunky groupy shit. I do not run up behind any persons ass because they are a celebrity movie star pro athelete or pro body builder. I love myself and think I am the shit. We all bleed the same color blood and will die eventually so the only difference between us and them is they may have more money that us so AI do not think you should be saying until we are them we can not commit on things we do not like.

Everyone on here needs to stop kidding yourselves...your no Mariusz, Ronnie, or Miller. So untill you are as good as these guys please dont look down on others, or stop going to pussy ass gyms...

From watching these New Years resolution guys trying to lift waaay too much weight for their experience level, with the worst form I've ever seen, I'm just surprised there aren't more injuries.
