Does overhead press/dips strength carry over to bench press?

I haven't done bench press seriously for maybe 3 months now.

I've been doign overhead press/dips though.

I did bench press again today and my strength is still there. Infact it feels a little bit easier now.

Does overhead press carry over to bench press?
 
Cool.

I think I might have to start bench pressing again. Even though I value strength over physique, i still don't want my chest area to turn to mush. Which is what has happened since I haven't been bench pressing lately.
 
if you really dont like flat BB press try it with dumbells, or try it with dumbells at a low incline...
 
Short answer is Yes, but it does depend on the trainee. Someone who is new in their training career will see tons of carry over from dips,press,bench etc. However, an advanced lifter will usually find that the more time spent away from an exercise means more strength lost. Could be muscle, mostly neurological. although, they will regain their strength quickly, and start gaining.
