Does getting punched in the face actually hurt?

mouth is not that bad actually, I got elbowed once by my brother and he knocked both of my front teeth out. It was an accident, we were playing basketball. From what I remember there wasnt too much pain involved as much as being kind of shocked with your teeth in your mouth.
I broke one of the fake front teeth again by jumping into a 4 feet swimming pool. my brother did it so I thought I could too. I ended up hitting the floor pretty damn hard, the only pain that I felt was my lip getting cut. I've gotten hit in the mouth a countless times after that and it was never a big deal.

Gettting hit in the ears and nose on the other hand is a bitch.

fighting is for sissies

"awww you hurt my feelings man you hurt my ego now I have to fight you to prove im a man because im not really sure"

thats a stupendous simplification coming from someone who delights in their own intelligence, Robert Jan. a bit obtuse, dont you think?

sometimes you get into a brawl for the wrong reasons, sure, but sometimes, violence is the only language some people understand.

as much as the rule of law is neccessary, it isnt all encompassing. some nasty shit slips through the gaps, and its times like those that you decide that beating the shit out of someone is an excellent idea

catching someone slipping a date rape drug into your sisters drink, for example.

I dont talk to those people. I don't hang in places where these people hang.

As for the broley slipping a pill into my sisters drink, I toss the drink, tell the bouncer and perhaps the cops and take my sister and go out of there.

Should this be in Maastricht or Leuven I probably know the bouncers the bouncers know my sister and they'll make sure he remembers anyway and I don't have to.

Fighting is not my thing. I'll also admit I suck at it, simply because I've had 0 practise in my life.

yes you do, you just dont realise it yet

and besides, how can you so offhandedly organise violence to be done to an individual through the bouncers you know, yet curl your lip at the thought of doing it yourself?

anyway if you caught a guy slipping something into your sisters drink, and just let the bouncers know about it/call the police or whatever, you must realise that they will get away with it and will probably rape another girl at another time. therefore youre neglecting your duty as a good, moral person to put the scumbag in hospital.

frankly itd be tempting to glass the prick with the spiked drink.

things like that are amongst the only things that can really, really upset me.

It's actually more of a numb feeling...Not as bad as most people think.
that's how i would describe it too. it's more of an annoying feeling, i get the feeling that i have to sneeze all the time (not that i get punched in the face everyday)

You make a good point and while I don't think I should, in the moment I might do something... If he didn't notice that I saw him doing it I could sneak up on him and put him in a headlock and on the floor.

I suppose I also might throw the drink at him. Thing is you never know how many of the guys in the bar are his buds

Actually this question is meaningless. you dont know my sister. She prefers to kick peoples asses who bother her herself. (no she is not ugly and does not eat whole hams, she is 6"0 and thick-well shaped and kind of strong for a chick and has a big attitude)

a few times she kicked the ass out of drunk guys who were trying to pick a fight with her bf when her bf just ignored them.:D

i could not agree more. robert jan if you had been in a similar situation you would not respond in the way you do now. your response is, in your case, based on hypothesis and a predetermined situation. however when someone spikes the drink of someone you care about and tries to have his way with her, i think it's safe to say you lose it and you WILL (try to) break the guy's face.

anyway enough of this shit, back to punching people in the face...

No offense. But you and all of the other braggart's here have never been punched solidly in an area where it will fuck you up, akin to being hit with a baseball bat in the head. Get in the ring with a pro boxer (power puncher) and get hit solidly on the chin and it will hurt. I've been hit many times and barely felt it, but when the pro boxer hit me, I understood the fear of being beat to death for the first time in my life.
