today I had my squat maximum effort workout.
It usually goes like this,

warmup - hold 45lb plate overhead X 20, bar x 10, 135x10, 225x8,
heavy (box squat) - 315x3, 365x3, 405x1, 425x1, 435x1
(I try to break a record every week)
work - 275x6 deep/explosive + jump squats W/135 to failure -- pyramid down 3 sets 225,185
that was my workout from last week

I'm in week 7 of the cycle and feeling awesome but last night I went out with some buddies for the first time since I started. They are entering the draft and finished their pd workouts so they wanted to hit the strip club with the money their agents gave them - I drank for the first time in over 2 months (3 beers spaced over about 4 hours, never even felt buzzed). I hadn't been going out so I hadn't really been getting any play lately. This place was awesome - one of the best in the country and the strippers were all over us. A bunch of them invited us to come party with them at closing time and I ended up hooking up with the hottest girl I have ever laid eyes on, absolute perfect ten, cute face, big boobs, pierced nipples, perfect tan, brunette - playboy hot. We ended up going at it twice and then her friend joined us. complete debauchery.

Today I had my squat workout and I struggled at 365 and failed at 405 -- I mean I couldn't even lift it once. Does this happen to anyone else, I remember the quotes from rocky and bull durham about girls making your legs weak but this is nuts.

Now leading up to this I had not gotten any in about 4 weeks, I was completely immersed in training and school. I workout twice a day, eat 7 meals, sleep 9 hours and I am in the best shape of my life. I don't think the beers would have made that much of a difference because they went right through me, but since getting it on last night I am so much more relaxed today.

btw, in case anyone didn't know - I guess strippers love big muscles :spin:
 
I think its all mental. But if you did have sex lets say an hour before you went to workout then I could see how that would affect you.
 
i would have to say yes. when you ejaculate, your testosterone levels drop. at least im pretty sure. my friend used to be hardcore into lifting and wrestling in high school- his coach, who is one bad motherfucker, always told them to not jerk off or have sex a day or two before a match. im pretty damn sure that when you ejaculate your test levels do drop significantly.
 
blah.......i masterbate before going to gym. i cant work out when those blond girls are doing squate, i just cant concentrate, so i have to milk my lizard before.
 
The drinking and the late-night run probably cost you some water and some rest -- which will definately make you weaker.

As far as sex goes, no it won't make you weaker -- as a matter of fact strong sexual stimulation is *good* for hormone levels. So screw away. The only exception would be some men experience a euphoria/endorphin rush after intense sex which can temporarily throw-off intensity in the gym. It takes me about 1.5-2 hours for it to clear, so basically I lay off the beaver unless I have more time than that before my workout.

Other than that... screw like mad! It can only help.
 
The only problem I have is AFTER a long hard workout!!! My wife knows not to expect anything for at least 3 hrs after a tough leg workout...LOL
 
what the fuck? you all mean to tell me that when you bust your nut before you go to the gym you have better workouts? how the hell can that be true? im almost 100% positive that when you ejaculate you have a testosterone dump and itll take your body a little while to recover the hormones lost.
 
I don't think it physically has any effect, this coming from experience. Maybe you just happened to have a crappy workout that day, happens to all of us

It doesn't lower your testosterone levels at all. It does, however, temporarily release endorphins and other "calming" neurotransmitters. During that period, you may have trouble finding intensity in your lifts because you don't have that unsettled, "i'm going to kill this shit" attitude going for you. For me, it lasts about 1-2 hours max.

plunk, are you sure? i was 99.99% positive (that .01% was cuz i havent read any research articles about it recently) that it was a huge test dump occuring... but thanks for clearing that up. k to you.
 
Alright, I broke down and hooked up with this smoking hot sophmore sunday night. I tried to just make out and go home but the test/drol has a mind of its own. But Monday afternoon I hit a PR in the bench, then I hit a PR in the incline. I guess it was the late night or the beer or maybe because I did it 3 times.
