Does anyone still detail their own car?

I've never gone to a detailer, and I've never gone to a regular car wash. My daily driver is in primer, so no need to wax ever. Just wash it with dish soap. Sometimes if I have stuff to do and I have time to kill in between, I'll go to a coin-op self-service car wash and pressure wash the undercarriage. For the other cars, I wash them at home when needed. I live on a farm, so it's pointless to try to keep a car perfect. There's always a film of dust, so I drive silver or gray cars that don't show dust. I wax cars once a year or so, but I don't make a big deal about it.

I detailed my own car weekend before last for the first time in probably 5 years. Christ what a PITA. You realize how huge a Corvette is when you have to wash, wax, polish that fucking behemoth, then clean every inch of the interior including using the bamboo sticks to clean hard to get at areas.

lol a corvette isnt big and it has no interior to clean:) i feel bad for people that buy massive suvs and have to clean them.

Yes I get mine done once per year inside and out (vetts , trans am scion spec ) and drive on average 50 to 100 miles in them ....I really just like to look at them .
My vintage bikes (trumpy,Vincent ) I do myself .
