Does anyone have the Bose Shockdock for the iPod?

Bose has a reputation for overpriced stuff. There is no middle-term with them, you either love them and pay whatever they ask or simply bash them till you die.
To my untrained ear, their products sound good enough. Can you get something bigger, louder for the money? hell yes, but BOSE is all about SMALL things

Well I was thinking about getting it but then I realized Im making an ipod into a home stereo which I can do from my laptop or spare laptop or two computers with a 250$bose computer speaker system and that is fucking way better than the bose ipod setup.
Why make an ipod into a boombox, defeats the purpose and the bose is not battery operated at least the one in the apple store here, they had a logitech or something similar which sound was decent, wouldnt fill up the room with sound quite like a bose but you could carry it in a duffle bag to the basketball court and hang out drink forties with the brothas in the park and listen to some tunes, dont forget the menthol cigarettes and youll fit right in.
Otherwise, I think there are better ways to create a homestereo system and add video as well for doing it up right

I have an original pair of the M1's, they offer supreme sound for under a grand. True freq response under 100db; home audio sucks.

My advisor and others in the dept recommended this specialist in the area, and he said the last surgery sucked/failed and I need another ASAP, so they said drop my classes and do it, which I decided after a couple weeks of thoughts and weighing consequenses. BUT, in doing so, I'm not eligible for campus housing, lol. I could probably take it to the dean of studetns and win, but instead she put me in a single credit independent study to stay enrolled and living here, so I won't have any mandatory scheduled classes or exams during surgery or post-op, which will likely be around 3 weeks. Still sucks, though, as I'm completely losing a semester of out-of-state tuition and shit, and OOS price tags are usually around $30K/year. It's really a lose/lose situation, but challanges are a part of life, I suppose, lol.
So I've been really bored and in limbo the last week, and I hate not having anything to do, but I have to go through the processes.

well suck it up my advanced primate friend, no worries, Im sure given time that you'll succeed at everything given your exceptional intellect. When life gives you lemons wave the magic wand and turn em into lessons learned. I dont know, talking about my ass, I hate that, ok well, Pm me if your addy changes while Im waiting for those Indians to give it to me. Should be tasty, plus perhaps some ripoff cologne from these mexicans down the street

The way they make the soundwave as my professor told us is what is so amazing. This guy practically designed the sonar in the sixties for nuclear submarines tellin us that bose sound system was the best. I cant seem to find a place that can demonstrate anything to the contrary. We have a Bose demonstration store and no matter whatother salespeople say, you just cant compare the different packages they offer. They have a proprietary technology that propels them beyond the competition, its amazing sciency

I don't see how Bose has anything clever apart from their marketing department. If you like the sound of a Bose system, good for you, but they don't accurately reproduce the signal fed into them. The whole concept of the Bose direct-reflecting system is flawed, if reproducing the three-dimensional sound field of the original recording is the goal. Looking at their product line, I don't see anything particularly new about their technology either. They still use the same cones, magnets, and coils as any other electrodynamic loudspeaker. They have some helmholz resonator bass boxes, which are just a moving coil bass unit in a pipe, which are incapable of making a flat frequency response.
Bose salesmen are good illusionists, they get factory training in how to steer the customer.
If you wanna hear something better, any high-end audio store should be able to satisfy. I'm rather partial to the Quad Electrostatic Loudspeakers from England, and some of the English electrodynamic speakers such as B&W, Mission, Spendor.

The science of sound that ive studied has nothing to do with a stupid salesperson whose taught to sell but go on with your bad self. Is there a place to compare this or explain to me how the waves of the bose dont exactly fill the room.
I know I can dig up the physics in my university notes but Im too lazy right now to try and argue this stuff. Look at the way the tube is constructed. Hyperdynamic sound is crazy and Ill one day link you to that to where I can fill a ten inch area with sound like a laser and talk seemingly inside your head and no one around you can hear it. Its all about how you form the wave my man, seriously, they used that in spielberg AI and tom cruise movie where you walk past an ad and it fills your head with the message. Far too complex I think to debate

I lost interest when "Home Theater" took over from hifi. I'm pretty much only interested in vintage hifi now, fun stuff with vacuum tubes and horns.

I don't know much about your interest, probably 'cause I'm a young'un and wasn't around for that stuff, but I bet I'd totally take it over the crap on the home audio market nowadays.
