if you dose too high it can raise your BP--but even then it is slight. should be fine--much much less impact in cardio than test (significant)--i know a few cat 1 bike racers that use var in the off season...although one is sitting the year out....
I have a friend who is a mma fighter who does var and either halo or winny a few weeks before his fights. He's only had a few fights but claims is doesn't affect him during his training other than slightly greater pumps and being a good deal stronger for his size.

Keep the dose under 100mg and not only will you be fine you will love it out on the pitch. Years ago, when I was a much younger lad, I spent a season with the Newcastle Falcons (never got into a game) and if it wasn’t for the Var, Test, EQ cycle I was running I never would have been keep up with those guys!!!
