because of the internet? The social interaction reminds me of my favorite book "Lord of the Flies." What happens to man when anonymity and an absence of socializing factors exists? Is man inherently good or inherently evil? A recent study was done where they used chat bots with female names, male names, and names that were neither male nor female in internet chat rooms. The results showed that female names got something like 18 times more threatening or abusive responses than male or androgenous names. They had actual researchers sit in the rooms and got similar results to those of the chat bots. Is mankind inherently bad when anonymity sheds the restraints of inhibition? How does the internet play into this behavior?

In general? I think the answer is both. Mankind is both good and evil. The dual nature of man.

Goddamn a pepsi sounds good all of the sudden. I have no idea why.

omg heather
please dont make me use brain power tonight
I could explain to you the nature of harmonics in conciousness and how identity mind works, the folly of ego, ect ect...
but im not gonna....

I think I read it somewhere else. do you find people are hostile toward you because of that. I've made my money already too.

naw...people are cool about it...they know me and i have learned long ago not to let disempowering unsupportive people into my life...especially in my inner circle of friends

Well I started out building a mobile personal training buissness, once that became self sufficient then beleive it or not I did some analyst work in Equity for wall street...private sector stuff mainly(college majors were Buissness management and Finance)

you know Heather...Ive been trying to figure out that very thing
Bodybuilding has consumed me over the past year. But it has cost me dearly I feel as well. Socially and in relationships, ive suffered losses for my passion for bodybuilding. Right now Im trying to find balance and spiritual evolvement. Day by day i become more free from the limiting bonds of spiritual entrapment.
I was thinking of starting another buissness and doing some private fund work on the market as well to use my time. I suppose more $$$ cant hurt either eh?

what was the question again? sorry! i was busy trying to peep down your top in the AV

RADAR

I just pulled my balls out of a hole in my boxers.

I'm an insensitive asshole, I know.

That is sort of where I am, too. Trying to find where I want to go now in life. I don't think you should be hard on yourself for other things falling through the cracks a little. All successful passionate people have that happen as a result of dedication.

That's awesome bro, I have a ton of respect for that. I'm a competitive bb'er too and know how it can consume you. I have had to step back a little and see the big picture. I'm still competing, but I'm trying to enjoy the things that are valuable to me too. It's easy to lose sight of your priorities and get a skewed perception of what matters in life.

The internet has increased the flow of information all over the world to inprecidented levels. It's driving even more change than people realize as well.

A few years back I did my fun research. I set myself up with 4-5 male usernames in chat rooms, and 5 females. OMG do girls get allot of attention in there! It's like very few girls have to do anything to get a chat, and then it tends to be unexpectidly sexual (from the guys).

and did you find that saying the same things you would say as a guy would garner strange and hostile comments? Just wondering. It is fascinating isn't it? Maybe all guys should try having a girl profile and chatting and see what happens.

Yes, I think the world is a better place.

The ability to share information worldwide has made us smarter and healthier. Its made the world a smaller place- people in India can chat with Mexicans (ok, maybe that doesn't happen all that often) with the same ease as people living around the block from eachother.
Businesses can expand globally with hardly any added costs, and now we can all see UA Iron's ball sack hanging out without having to go to his house.

Here's a cool article about abandoning the internet:

fascinating article! I bookmarked it. I particularly liked this part:

"Optimists point to initiatives underway to address the problems of the Internet: secure operating systems, certificate based authentication, tools for identifying abusers and legal sanctions against them, and the like. But I fear the cure may be worse than the disease, so much so that I penned a 25,000 word screed sketching the transformation of the Internet from an open network of peers to a locked-down medium for delivering commercial content to passive consumers."

That really sums up the dilemma well.
