Do you tell other people about your EF microcosm?

I don't mention that I post on EF C&C or that I sit at work and post on a chat board all day long. Whenever a subject that has been brought up on here comes up in real life I usually say something like "I read somewhere that......" or "some one was talking about it the other day and they said......." or stuff like that. Does any one tell non-EF people about EF? Do any of you mention peoples screen names as the source of your knowledge on the subject?

I also didn't tell anyone in real life that I was goign to the EF meet up a couple of weeks ago, I think it would seem weird to people if I told the mthat these are people from an internet chat board that I'm meeting for the first time. I'm also gonna probably meet up with Bran this weekend. If any of my buds happen to come along to a bar or whatever we do, I'm not sure that I wanna say "this is my buddy from an internet chat board". How dorky does that sound to the real world?

j/k, no I mentioned to my friends that I post alot on a bodybuilding board online, but its only a fleeting subject, other than I mentioned the meetup in Austin to a couple of them.

when they look at you like you're fucked in the head, tell them the truth and they'll probably be cool with it.

sometimes I get some cool links from here and I e-mail them to my roomate and my bros. One time my roomate asked me how I find so much "weird" stuff. I didn't wanna say "from this chat board that I spend all day on" so I just said "I find them here and there or people e-mail them to me".
