Yes, I put the weights back, mainly because in my small town I'm one of the only strong guys around & everyone is literally doing bunny weights, basically. I can't stand it when some idiot does, say, upright rows with 65 lbs. in the squat rack, takes 15 minutes, then walks off without removing the weights. I gotta weight for his weeny ass, then remove his puny weights, THEN readjust the barbell & the rack pins so I can finally begin squats, etc. I hate even more people who fucking leave dumbells any old place & everywhere but where they belong.

I take my weights off of everything except bench. At the gym I go to it is kind of expected to leave 45s on because 99% of everyone there uses at least 1 45.

I do it 99% of the time. Sometimes I leave the 45 on the bench because 99% of the time people just throw them back on any way.

Would you guys say something to someone who does leave plates on the bar? Not 135, but like 315 or more?

Hell, yes! Just because you lift heavy doesn't mean you get a free pass on gym etiquette. Besides, I can say it from behind him while I'm holding a 30lb dumbbell in my hands. He gets pissed, it's just one to the temple.

Whist this is true for WORKING weight, it's still a poor assumption.

Warmups require starting lower than 135 even if you are woking up to over 300lbs...

45 (bar) x 20
95 x 15
135 x 10
185 x 8
225 x 6
275 x 4
315 x 3...

If someone in the rack next to me leaves weigths on, I clean it up while they can see me do it. It gets the point across.

And I always rack my weights, which is funny b/c I'm a total slob when it comes to my room and car.
