SoKlueles

Platinum
food, clothing, cleaning supplies and what not??

i dont know
I go to walmart looking for some PMS pills and i get ticked off cuz they dont have the equate brand of pamprin or midol which is just as good IMO

No I don't.....I will buy name brand stuff if on sale tho....

the only brand you all need in your lives is this one here:

As for the original question, there was a time where I, like most teenagers, was like that... eventually you learn that QUALITY and BRAND-NAME are not necesarilly one. I still go for high-quality (specially with foods, I always say "save somewhere else, but not in what you eat").

Clothing is where a brand is less important to me, some other things, like certain electrronics and cars you normally can trust a brand-name to have better quality (though is not a norm, you have also shitty Mercedes too, but the incidence is lower).

Then there is the point of the brand as a status symbol: 500 $ for some tore jeans??? NEVER IN MY LIFE

I'll buy store brand ibuprofen and that sort of thing. I'm partial to the grocery store brand of cottage cheese because it's the same as the expensive stuff and costs less than half as much.

I'm all over the boards with clothes. I'm wearing a new shirt today that is mega flattering and makes me feel good and it was $11.99. But my jeans were $100.

Cleaning supplies tend to be on the pricey side though. I like all natural non-toxic stuff and I prefer the aromatherapy kind too. ;)

There is usually a good reason that the knockoffs or the other label is cheaper. Sometimes, the knockoff or generic works fine, but if quality is your aim, stick with the one that has their name on it...

Buy the best that you can afford, and you will never be sorry...

I buy cheap green tea extract from Walmart ... about half the price of the health food store.

Green tea is green tea ... right?

it depends on what it is. Like batteries, I only use duracell ultras, they are the best, and very much worth the price.

I think you pay for the name brand is alot of why the name brand is more expensive
when i have a headache, the equate stuff gets rid of my headache
except the equate advil.....it dont have that nice sweet taste that regular advil has

I like quality, now if the quality I like is brand name then so be it if not that is even better. I will buy quality only if I can.

Depends on what I'm buying.

Some things, I don't mind buying generic. Other things, I insist on buying name-brand, such as tools, or auto parts. In those instances, you definitely get what you pay for.

Along those same lines, I try to stick with items made in the USA whenever possible. Yes, I look at the labels.

Every little bit helps.

for me, my sneakers HAVE to be name brand. Otherwise, I look what they have (clothing and stuff) and try to find almost the same thing at another store for cheaper. The food dont have to be namebrand, cause you are paying more money only because of it

guys - for grocery store supplies and stuff, there are 2 reasons why it costs more.

1) brand name companies spend tons on advertising - must recoup costs
2) brand name companies spend tons on pretty packaging - must recoup costs

look at the ingredients a lot of the time you are buying the exact same product.

other times it does matter, like for instance supplements I only have certain brands I trust.
