If you do, then how do you define patriotism? Some would say that if you don't stand firmly behind what the president and the government is trying to achieve, then you are NOT patriotic. If you don't fully support Bush's policy's and his decisions regarding Iraq, then you are a traitor in the eyes of real patriots of this country.
Is that what defines patriotism? Are you patriotic by this definition? To me, blindly following and standing up for what the president says and does does NOT define patriotism. Because if this were the case, then, by definition, those citizens who firmly believed in and followed everything Hitler said and did back in the day were definitely patriotic. I'm not going to blindly follow Bush like those sheep followed Hitler (1but I'm sure there were many more German people who hated what Hitler was doing, but still loved their country).
I see these people more like "loyalists to the current government regime" more than patriotic to their country. I don't consider myself loyal to Bush's agendas, but I do love my country.
