Yeah I have noticed that about people up North and Canada....but in the South it is definitely SODA

My kids say pop, I call it by the name because I have been all over and got sick of saying what the locals called it. Mostly I call the carbonated beverage I drink, beer. Why is 'pop' so wrong?
