Please Scroll Down to See Forums Below I wasn't referring to the Alaskan reserves..I'm talking about the CASPIAN SEA. If you research it a little bit you'll find a vast amount of info on it. A proposed pipeline ( Proposed by UNOCAL..a major AMERICAN oil company) to pump it to the coast of the INDIAN ocean has it running through...drum roll please...AFGHANISTAN. Oh by coincidence we are waging a war against terror there. The pipline would also run through GEORGIA...and also by coincidence the US is establishing a military presence there to help that gov't fight terrorism. Throw this on top of the fact the BUSH and CHENEY (among others) have major ties to the oil industry. How come people can't see that at the very least PART of this war on terror is about the US (or US oil companies) having a strategic presence in a part of the world that will make oil companies rich????

but y would America need to stage a domestic terrorist attack - which killed real people and incurred severe economic costs, to expand Americas claim on global petroluem reserves?

If sept 11th didnt occur, Im sure america could circumvent Georgia and Afghanastan if terrorist threats to the planned pipline were real.
