A # of years ago the Minnesota Crime Commission released this statement: "Every baby starts life as a little savage. He is completely selfish and self-centered. He wants what he wants when he wants it- his bottle, his mother's attention, his playmate's toy, his uncle's watch. Deny him these once, and he seethes with rage and aggressiveness, which would be murderous were he not so helpless. He is in fact, dirty. He has no morals, no knowledge, no skills. This means that all children- not just certain children- are born delinquent. If permitted to continue in the self centered world of his infancy, given free reign to his impulsive actions to satisfy his wants, every child would grow up a criminal- a thief, a killer or a rapist."

A permssive, think-only-about-the-bright-side-of-life philosophy will be ripped to shreds by problems of depravity if your child grows up without restraints, boundaries, and controls. Not even a kind and professional Dr. Jekyl could remove the savage-like Mr. Hyde from his own life. Face it, the dark side is permanently connected to us.

100% true and accurate.

But what do you expect from a society that threatens incarceration to parents who spank their kids?? Trying to intellectualize with a child does not work, nor does trying to "befriend" them. I've seen numerous friends attempt this over the last 20+ years, and not once has it worked.

From a young age, kids need to learn who's boss, but how can that happen in a society that threatens incarceration to parents who so much as spank their kids??

Parents are supposed to discipline their offspring, yet most all effective means of doing so have been "legally" removed from their arsenal?

We've been breeding brutal generations of juvenile delinquents for quite a while now, and these new generations are the ones the adults of today are going to have to rely on in their old age to take care of them. How's that for ironic?
