Clubs that give ladies no cover and free drinks,
Dating sites that give women free memberships,
Women sitting back and kicking it, while the men have to ask them out.

Do women have the upperhand in relationships? Why does society seemingly cater to women in social situations?
 
I do have a response, but it would be long and windy...lol.

I think our dating norms reflect the past when women did not work and the men courted women and then took them in and took care of them.

I have found, though, that men love this. I have never asked a man out, paid on a date, called men, etc. I find that the more you let a man chase you, the more they love you. I don't do all that to be mean to them, I just don't have it in my personality to chase them.
 
depends on the men theyre dealing with. womens role is more passive. they have the upperhand with socially illiterate men, but are disadvantaged against socially literate men (who are few anyway)

this is the dumbest question, not only do women have the upper hand in starting a relationship but they do in ending it, and being in it in general

society has allowed women to feel like they are queens and their pussy is the answer to everything and so they act in such ways and expect men to be their fucking tools. thats why u need to smack them every chance u get

That said - in the big picture the 50's nuclear family and set gender rolls may have been a much better life.

But it's not the 50's so you do what you have to.
 
They are given a lot, yes. But what makes it worse is the men that play by these rules cause they just don't have the wherewithal (sp?) or courage to change the rules (which, coincidentally, women respond to VERY well :) ).

Do you actually realize how a man's social life changes when he TRULY begins to believe that a) sex is not a sacrifice that a woman decides to make for the man, b) "I am the prize. She has to EARN me" and c) a woman should NEVER be rewarded simply for being beautiful or attractive - she needs to earn rewards and show actual value in life above and beyond a pretty face and nice ass (that she was either born with or paid for)? It is beyond amazing

Well some of the rules can't be withdrawn from now. If businesses stopped giving out ladies specials, the women would stop coming, and then men would stop coming as a result, and the business would suffer. Its unfortunate that society has put itself in this position.

I dont think either gender is the 'prize' persay. Both genders are equal. But then again, I'm sure that both genders would tend to agree that women are prettier than men, lol. But as you were saying, beauty doesnt give you rights to life. But it does make for one hell of a bargaining chip.

I meant the social rules - that women are the holders of the power and men are here to persuade/beg/trick them into "allowing" us to take part in their lives (sexual or otherwise). I'm not saying that all women walk around thinking this *cough*consciously*cough*, but it's the way of the world. And it is as much, if not more, the fault of men.

In a perfect world - yes, both genders would be equal. But on certain playing fields, this is not the case.

Do you think the fact that women tend to be prettier than man may have more to do with why women are more sought after, and also why women dont want to have as much sex?

lol, "pretty" is WAAY to of a relative and subjective term. so I'm not even going there.

and all the women I have ever been around want just as much, if not MORE, sex than men. it's jsut that a) they show it in different, more subtle ways and b) most men don't have the knowledge or emotional intelligence to make a woman feel comfortable enough to get to that point.

women can go for longer without sex than men. even if women want it badly, they are willing to hold out for the perfect guy or not have it at all, rather than lower their standards.
sure they might want it just as much, but they are a heck of a lot more patient than men, and have higher standards.

are you a male? if so, I imagine it is easier to tell yourself these things and act as though they are absolute fact than it is to actually go out and meet women and learn what makes them tick and how they think and act and what type of behavior they respond to.

I'm not saying that all women are patient with sex than men, I'm just saying thats the case with most of them, and that most would prefer to get their sex partner more before hopping in bed with them.

yes, I'm a male. I guess I've never met a woman that openly admitted that she liked to have sex with strangers or anything like that. Although I've met plently of men like that.
Most women that I've met don't admit to their sexual passions or anything like that in a group setting (whereas guys tend to do this). but then again, thats only MY experience.

I love it when a woman offers to pay for the date. And I will let them too. Why shouldn't they? And I liked to be chased too. Guess I'm not conventional, I don't feel threatened by an aggressive woman.

Well, when a guy complains about a beautiful woman and how they were treated by them I always have to ask if they are part of the solution or problem? It's all the guys who fall over each other to kiss a woman's ass that gives them the attitude the guy is complaining about. She sees men like a kleenex, when she's done with one there is another one popping up to take his place. Most women who have this attitude don't have that much going for them to actually make them so desirable outside of appearance. It's life's cruel joke it catches up to them in their late 30's when guys aren't popping up like kleenex anymore and they have to "settle" for someone they might not have even considered dating ten years earlier.
 
I am learning from my daughter and pretty much everything I thought about women in general is true.

I find myself asking the same of women who complain about men being cheaters and dawgs. The fact of the matter is, as you get older, you realize that there are VERY FEW people in this world (men and women) who are truly worthy of (or interested in) a meaningful and healthy monogomous relationship. I mean, like a very small percentage of the total population. Once you realize that, and realize that it futile to have unrealistic expectations of people in general, you're better off. Some people never realize this. It's unfortunate.
