do any adults believe in vampires?

I mean, for reals. do they?

because lestat's thread has me thinking- the next time someone tells me that maybe I should just "believe in god, just in CASE" i'm going to ask if they could possibly just "believe in vampires". or warewolves.

I like vampire movies but until i get bit by one or see one .. I like to keep a open mind cause vampires being real would be pretty cool ..
 
No I don't... Or Werewolves, Santa and the Easter Bunny. Unicorns however are up in the air.
 
I want to say no but I live in New Orleans and I scared that if I do one will come get me after. Anne Rice swears they are right here.....

The Cemetary's in NO are beautiful to me and just reminds me that I'm home.


When I was around 13 we camped out in a cemetary on Halloween night and played truth or dare. I was so scared but didn't want to show it in front my my friends.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but I never saw the appeal of heaven. Rivers of milk and honey, and you praise God all day. Does that sound fun? What is cool about a road paved in gold?

I think Islam gained momentum early on because it offered an alternative to that heaven, basically for Christians, heaven was good just because it meant you weren't in hell, which was really really bad. Fire and torment and the like. So Muhammed gives you a bunch of virgins, what man wouldn't wan that!

But anyway, yeah, this whole heaven if you're good hell if your bad is pretty petty, and not something I think any "supreme being" worthy of worship would even really care to bother with. I mean you can do anything, you want a bunch of people to worship you? The Backstreet boys get that and they are douchebags.

It's like I said in another thread if there isn't a God and heaven at least my believing in it made me happier and treat people better.

When I was a little girl, I loved unicorns. People told me they were real and I believed them.....until we went to the zoo. I kept asking to see the unicorns but the zoo-keeper told me they were not real. I cried for 2 weeks. :worried:

No. He gave me a hug when I started crying. I was prolly 6. I was REALLY mad at my mom for telling me they were real.

because there's probably retards in the world who have convinced themselves that those are real too, and then decided they are one and crave the taste of blood.

Treat people better than what? Better than those who dont believe in heaven & God? Or better than you would have if you didnt believe?
I dont believe and Im confident that I treat people very well. Its part of who I am as a human being.

My brother things this way. He feels that life without Jesus wouldn't be worth living and he should just rape, kill, and steal because there was no reason to behave like a civil human being.

I don't understand that mentality whatsoever, I don't need a god, or a book, or anyone to tell me that causing physical pain to someone is a bad thing.

Smurfy I was just saying that it helps me I use to have a very bad temper and some weekends I would fight 2-3 times while being out. I looked at everyone like they were out to get me and I use to get so mad when people would cut me off while driving that I would follow their ass. I just had a total different mindset I guess from the crap I went through growing up. I was in and out of jail for fighting alot the Army saved me for awhile but I was still always missing something.

After I was saved and found God it changed me. I was heading down a path of destruction and should have been dead like my two best friends ever that died within two months of each other and it really made me worse. I look at things so much different now and I don't think anyone is out to get me. I treat everyone like I would want to be treated and I never follow anyone for cutting me off in trafiic now I let them in front of me. I use to get mad in checkout lines waiting to pay now I let people cut in front of me. I am looking right now at going on a mission with my church to help build houses and a school which I would have never thought of before. I am alive and happy and things aren't perfect I still get mad sometimes but I control it now because I feel God see's my actions. I am still a work in progress but I'll hopefully live to see my daughters grow up now.

that is awesome bro and I commend your personal growth and change of world view.

Just realize that not everyone needs religious faith to do the same.

I go out of my way to do good in the world (i'll say no to the haters, that yes, I could do more) but I do so not because a god commands me to, or I think it'll get me to heaven, I do it because I try to treat others as I would want to be treated. My life philosophy is basically to spread the good and joyous parts of my life, and contain the not so pleasant ones as so they do not negatively affect others.

Thank you for understanding and the well wishes.

That is great and I wish I would have been that way to but I was pissed off at the world for the things that had happened in my life. I have always stated on here that this is MY beliefs and what helped me and I don't go chasing people preaching to them yet if the question is asked I must tell my story incase someone else out there is in the same position they can look at how it changed me to give them hope.

Dracula (Vlad Tepes) was a real person. He lived here-

It'd be cool if he was still alive and proved me wrong though. :)

It was probably inside me but I had alot of hurt and anger and would have been dead or in prison. I have always been good hearted but I would let anger change me at times now I just laugh most of the time.

He is still alive. You just don't spend enough time out at night, in Romania, without a garlic necklace around your neck.
