For me : I'm so busy with stuff - phone calls are pretty much annoyances that eat up time - becuase like you said, it's just a stupid small talk marathon usually by the other person. About shit I don't really care about.

Back in the day - I'd talk 5 hours about Disney films with a gf. Times have changed.

I'll still talk Disney films on EF btw.

Great post, I agree, something about time, culture, and conversation or something inexpressible for me at the moment cause I"m tired, but yeah you hit it on the head, so much access now and communication technology... but we are left with nothing to say...
