there's this outlandish rumor, it might be in the Collegiate/Prof. Sports Forum, where someone said the Lions are bringing A. Smith in the backdoor this summer, something that had been worked out when he was drafted. i'm hopeful.

Calling out or threatening Digger is a guaranteed way to make things one hundred times harder on yourself.

Oh yeah... everyone knows that EF is not a democracy, right? It's a dictatorship. And Digger dictates. It's really quite simple, and I fail to see how these nuances turn into huge public dramas. EF is also a business, so if Digger doesn't respond in 12 hours about something as minor as an avatar, that means he has better things to do with his work time. A complaint about something of this nature won't be anywhere near the top of the priority list... and bringing it up in this manner... well, it's burying yourself.

Digger isn't my boss, my father, or the prinicipal of the school I go to.

We're all paying customers... wether it's through membership fees or through being part of the demographic that views the ads that generate the revenue that floats this entire shit boat.

When we pay for something - it cannot be taken away arbitrarily without reason. Do you agree?

not really, though he should be refunded for the remaining time of the agreement, but it's probably in the terms of service that they dont have to offer that.

non-reciprocal contracts are unenforceable....

When I purchase service, certain expectations are assumed - i.e. when I purchase a plat membership for 3 months - it cannot be taken away without specific cause without a refund.

What is the cause?

I will bet dollars to donuts, he wasn't asked to take it down nor given any specific explanation.

How about my avatar... does it violate TOS? the anwswer is.. if an admin wants it to it does.

He's the (or one of the) bosses of the company you're a member at.

If you pay for a membership somewhere, it certainly can be taken away. A gym membership, for one example. I can name plenty more if you'd like.

"Arbitrarily without reason"? Well, if the administrator or owner makes a call on something, he's going to have a reason. I'm pretty sure these people have lives, and have no interest in arbitrarily picking member numbers from a really big hat, then throwing a dart at a dartboard to see what completely random thing they can do to with that member.

And am I the only one who finds this whole thing almost humorous? It's about a damned avatar? C'mon. If an avatar is that freakin' important... um, well, I don't know what to say. It's a bloody avatar. Get a new one.

Basic rules of business dictate that cutstomers are provided an explanation.

They shouldn't have to ask for it. But if they are left to ask for it, they should be responded to in a timely manner.

Simple as that.

And at a gym... if they take away a membership certainly they provide an explanation. *AND* if that explanation is good - such as you raped Bob in the locker room - well yeah.. ur not gonna get a refund. However.... if you wore a t-shirt with the following:

http://i9.tinypic.com/2wmzw4g.gif

ANd they just simply didn't like that, you would get a refund.

You see?

That's how business works. Frankly, it's sad that people defend the way things work here. Your example of a 'Gym' in real life doesn't equate as I have pointed out. If you have more examples, let's have them.

So what time does that No-Drama Weekends thing start in CST? Mods get 1,000 karma for every thread they lock or delete, as well as a bonus 100 karma points for every additional post on the thread... so this thread is looking pretty ripe right now. :D

Okay, maybe that's not entirely true, but I don't see this thread serving any real substantive purpose, other than to coerce a fickle mob of internet personas.

You obviously don't read the fine print on those contracts you sign when you become a member.

Hey Heather! You ever practice contract law? lol

That is seriously fucked if he is

Samoth we all know what you are saying

but seriously, bino is one of the few members that makes this board worth coming to.

Nah... I understand they have termination clauses... regardless.... I'd get my money back. Good businesses will give you your money back as well.

Businesses ran by otherwise unemployable smartasses that have no other outlet for their frustrations... sure... they may not give a refund, but then again - they won't ever really be super sucessfull businesses.

LMAO.. shall I post a link to the Merchant Agreement that EF signed with their CC clearing bank?

I.E. If you are not delivering the goods or services that the charge was for, you will refund the money or we will simply take it out of next months payment.

I honestly don't know what that is, so I really can't say anything, lol.

Sounds like a typical case in contract law. Damn EF and it's lack of 1L gunners!

So if you hunt during winter when it's snowing, do you find snow camo to be more effective than traditional Realtree/Hardwoods HD camo? Assuming stalking/still-hunting and not hunting from a tree stand.

most anamils are color blind bro.so as long as its camo it ant going to matter much....when ground hunting one of the more important things is if you are up or
down wind from what you are hunting.snow camo was designed far cambat more
then hunting.

you want to be up wind when ground hunting.as in the wind is coming at you
or even right to left or left to right depending.and you want to.remember if they can smell you your chance of catching them is o to non most of the time depending on what you are hunting.you want to move slow and soft.less noise the better.the less you smell like a humin the better to.I.e never were coloin lotions skin and hair care products that have a strong smell.

Yeah, I got some free samples of odorless/scent remover body soap with a bottle of odorless/scent remover laundry detergent I got last summer. I haven't tried either yet, as I don't think they'd do much good on campus or anything, lol, but I've read extensively on scent control. My thermals are scent-loc, so hopefully those will make a difference. I sure as hell can't afford those name-brand scent-loc pants, shirts or jackets that cost over $100 per article, so hopefully the layer closest to my skin will be a better investment. Fred Asbell's "The Ground Hunter's Bible" is one of the best books of it's kind, and I try to follow as much of that stuff as I can. Hell, that guy wears striped flannel shirts hunting, lol, so camo can't be too big a deal.

I draw the line at baiting and animal urine, though, lol. Well, unless it was bear hunting, then I suppose you'd have to bait or buy dogs. There's a certain exhilaration and romance from hunting... I think that appeal would slighted with the integration of deer urine to one's box of tools.

Those squirrels better be impressed by my lack of scent and prestigious camo patterns next fall. Maybe they'll be so impressed that they'll stand still so I can get a shot from 10 yards, too. :D

the first time EF accepted money for karma...i.e., actually selling something as close to nothing as something can get...a screw fell out of the machine, the universe started malfunctioning, building up pressure, melting down, shaking apart. the devil got his due.

if EF were charged with the annihilation of a small vietnamese hamlet, one should not be surprised. lastly, i submitted this post from the crapper.

as long as you wash your other close with that bottle of odorless/scent remover laundry detergent and wash with the soup you will be fine with just the shirt.

well if you want to go that far the sell deer piss you can rub on your close to.
yes, they also have stuff that you rub on that smells just like dirt. It masks scent really well. My dad is an avid hunter. He uses it.

Samoth, if you ever want to go hunting in Kentucky with a very good bow hunter, my dad has over a hundred acres of hunting land down here, set up with a big camp with electricity, water, campers, atv's, golf carts, all sorts of hunting gear. It is a hunter's dream come true.

In spring it is beautiful because it is covered with dogwood and daffodils in bloom. Bow season is in October, though, I believe.

I believe that baiting is illegal here. My dad doesn't bait. He finds it unsporting. He doesn't use the deer urine either, I don't think.

He does however, provide corn for the deer in the winter so that they have enough food to continue to live. If they all die of hunger, obviously the hunting wont be good. He eats the meat, so it also help to have nice meat.

What you're missing here, is the fact that when people pay to be here, digger becomes their employee. He's the bad apple, and he's the reason I've never paid for a plat. Every time I've considered it, he does something like this and makes the site undeserving of the money I work for.
