Did I do too much? What do you think?

Last Sunday I started a new, heavier routine.
On Monday and Tuesday, I was so sore in the legs that I walked funny.
I am better today, but still sore.
My chest and deltoids are also still sore, but my triceps are doing fine.

Should I cut down my routinhe, or should I try to tough it out?
I will not workout till soreness is almost gone.

Maybe cut back and ease into the new program over a period of a weak or two. DOMS decreases with conditioning, unless it's really bad just train through it. If it's so bad as to impede your workouts or increase the chance of injury, you can try some active recovery work with light resistence to get some blood into the muscle and facilitate recovery.

While just about everyone agrees that DOMS is unrelated to a stimulative workout, it is very much related to conditioning. If you are interested in a few of the theories about from what mechanism DOMS arrises from (it's not conclusive BTW) here's a good read: http://www.fortifiediron.net/invision/index.php?showtopic=23534&st=0

Re: Did I do too much? What do you think? MY FOLLOW UP.

My follow up: My last roids was 5-6 weeks ago.
I thought that my legs had recovered after 6 days. I was not feeling that sore.
So after 6 days, I tried to do the same routine. With my right leg, I was not able to reach the same weight. I also developed some muscle spasm. With my left leg, I did fewer repetitions with high weights. Bummer. I was significantly sore for 1 day.
After 5 days, I felt that I have recovered. Today I worked out and not only I was able to complete my first routine, I also increased weight by 30 pounds on leg presses.
My chest soreness is way, way less after workout. AND I have increased weight. I am doing it twice a week.
PYRAMIDAL SYSTEM ROCKS.
Excercising only once a week is BULL.

Sorry, but you are wrong. What is your reasoning in saying once every six days? Do you have one?
