Did anyone watch the CNN special on Weight Loss?

I actually lost about 30lbs in 5-6 months only by quit drinking coke, watching my diet, and doing light cardio once/twice a week.. Also stopped drinking twice a week.. now only drink a few beers once a month or so.. Its all about dedication.. you really have to be motivated to change your lifestyle, but its no problem when you really want to!


Now im not that fat anymore :-) ( currently "only" 250lbs, 20 years old, and 192cm tall..

Looking forward to drop another 40lbs of fat. Im pretty sure i will manage to drop down to 210-215 during this year, with help from the weigths, ECA, and watching my diet ! :-)

yep, i used to think "god damn this is too easy!" when i ate salad rolls every day and drank litres of OJ. Id say over the past 8 years there wouldnt be a day where i didnt eat some super-high carb food (mostly breads)

media is full of crap... its worse for young people because they are ignorant and easily influenced...
 
I LOVE when my clients drink sodas, sweet tea or put heavy cream in thier coffee. It makes my job so easy. For people like that you can get results by having them just drink diet every other soda, or mix half sugar and half artificial sweetner in their sweet tea, and switch to 2% milk. I find it's easiest to break people out of their bad diet habits slowly-you know maybe one or two changes a month. This way they can still eat most of their favorite foods so they don't feel deprived, and their total calories are lower so they lose weight.

I think a huge part of the problem is the popular misconception that in order to lose weight you have to go on some crazy plain chickenbreast, brown rice and broccoli diet to lose weight. People don't understand moderation at all! Then again they don't understand discipline or exercise either. My Mom does that stupid Susan Sommers diet where she dosent mix carbs with fat, and she never loses weight. Even worse, she bitches to me about it all the time, but wouln't listen to my advice when I'm a health professional. Normal people make no sense at all, but I guess we seem like freaks to them too. I'm done bitching now.
